Things that bother us.

  • I'm old enough not to have known they were even called Heelys, but am secretly jealous that they weren't around when I was a kid.

The use of the word 'party' as a verb bothers me, but above and beyond all else, Orlando Bloom, the smug, bumfluff-mustachioed millionaire, bothers me rotten. I actually laughed when he was in a car crash, god help me.

When I was a little kid I used to wear those amusement park paper bracelets for a few weeks and thought it was cool.

I did that too, me and my friends would see who kept theirs on the longest.

  • I do that with concert paper bracelets

I'm bothered by the fact that my brain is fried and I'm only half way done with my paper at 5 am. Need sleep.

This is me now. I'm pretty much 2/3 of the way done...but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's 5:30am. Scarily enough, a friend is still up studying with me.

That was then, this is dumb.
  • I used to wear a Livestrong, but my little brother got it broken. It was nice to have some color on my arm. And I wore it before it got fashionable.

I don't know why people wear those stupid little bracelets as if it demonstrates how good of a person they are.

I hate it when I have an irresistible urge to dance to something I'm playing (Gang Of Four's "Damaged Goods," for example) but I can't because my room is on the second floor of an 80+ year old house, and I've been forbidden to dance upstairs since it shakes the ceiling. Damn.

  • I despise it when people say "addicting" rather than "addictive."

I fucking hate drunk people. So I always end up getting far drunker than necessary just so that I can tolerate everyone else.

I also hate football. And unfortunately for me, drunk people and football seem to go hand in hand. Come football season, I find myself draped over toilets a lot. If I'm lucky, I'll puke on a drunk football fan.

  • -People.Fuck em
-The lack of sunlight during the winter. This is especially frustrating when you wake up late and half the day is literally gone already.
    -ESPN
    -Being broke
-People who share music in one folder on Soulseek
-When people ban you on Soulseek (especially when you have like two more songs to go).
    -Cold weather
-People who absolutely love MBV and don't like (or have heard of) Slowdive.
-The philistines in groups like Extensive Musical Taste.
Especially during those band/chart game things.

It slightly bothers me that I might very well be the only teetotaller (call me straight edge and I'll slap yer face) in this group.

    Seriously, alcohol frightens me.

I dislike when an idiot on Soulseek tries to download an album off you at like 0.45 k/s, and backs up your upload line severely.

Another one is when the guy or girl you are downloading off of just logs off right when you're about 3 or 4 songs from finishing off an album. (Other than those complaints and what StDionysus said, I love Soulseek).

Interesting informative tidbit: Ian MacKaye and Henry Rollins were inspired to do the whole straight edge thing by Ted Nugent's teetotalletarianism.

I usually only drink when im either alone or with like one other person and feeling quite depressed.

Its because I too fucking hate drunk people..

  • But then the whole point it to get drunk enough that they don't bother you (when that's necessary). Hence my position during football games. Don't drink alone, that's just sad.

That was then, this is dumb.
  • So, as I'm sure it is for many of you, it is finals week. Currently in the Lawrence area we are having extremely inclement weather. Super scary ice storm business. The possibility lingered earlier today of Monday night finals being canceled and the school said they would send out an e-mail by 6 to let us know.

I take my Media and Politics course at a different campus (still KU) that is 40 mins away so of course I was checking every 10 minutes or so. I received nothing by 6 and went to class.

I get there and the class is about 1/3 full, so we all started to get suspicious. The professor didn't show up and after 20 mins or so the dean there ran in and said he had called to say it was canceled and that he apparently had e-mailed us.

Well I am pissed off enough to stop in a computer lab before going home and low and behold I never got an e-mail. SO FUCKED UP. MAKE ME DRIVE 40 MINS (WHICH TURNED INTO AN HOUR) IN AN ICE STORM FOR NOTHING?!?!?! Biggest bullshit ever.

Perhaps this can be considered more than something that "bothers me" but I just needed to vent.

    findingthebomb bothers me.

  • Haha, I don't think anyone's going to argue with that.

Having two of my finals only 30 minutes apart bothers me.Time management is not my strong point; this leaves me very little cram time!!

That was then, this is dumb.

That sucks. I had a similar experience yesterday (well, kind of).

A few weeks ago, I talked to a recruiter from a food processing company and set up an interview for what I thought was a finance-related position.

So yesterday, I drove 45 minutes into the middle of nowhere during the worst snowstorm of the year and almost slid off the road a few times. When I got to the interview, they explained to me that if I wanted a financial position with the company that I would have to work on the assembly line as a team leader for at least three to five years first. They then proceeded to show me a tour of the facilities. I got to see the entire process of a raw potato turning into a frozen french fry.

No, I don't think it is. I genuinely don't think he realizes how annoying he is.
