    McCain:
    • United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Can I have the link to the document which states that, so I can email it to Real Time with Bill Maher (incase they don't already know that little bit of information)?

Politicising stupid people is never pretty. But that video was just hick porn, as far as I'm concerned. There must have been some Republican at that rally who wasn't either racist or retarded.

True, there are morons on both sides. I have a cousin that is a major 9/11 truther and participated in the WTO Seattle Protests, so I know how stupid liberals sound. The Republican party. though, is closer with there moronic elements. I would argue though that the Republicans are closer and use their stupid base much more than democrats. Here in AZ we have a state representative (Russell Pearce) that sent out chain emails from white supremacy groups and sheriff of Maricopa County keeps his job by blaming everything on Mexicans (and spends millions of dollars rounding up the few he can find). Also, it is important to note while Air America thankfully collapsed, Conservative talk radio and TV is still going strong. I guess us liberals have the Daily Show and Olberman, but far more listen to morons like Dobbs, Beck, and Rush; and these conservative morons disguise themselves as news (not commentary or humor).

McCain's sub-par past isn't exactly a secret. It was Rolling Stone's cover story, for god's sake.

And beelz, it's a pretty good joke that our Conservative Party is still further left than your Democrats, but that's simply not true. That was true of the Progressive Conservative party that ran in the 1980's and 1990's, but then they amalgamated with the ultra-right-wing Reform Party (which had renamed itself the Alliance Party at that point). Now, the entire Party is controlled by the Reformers, under the reputation of the admittedly not-so-bad Progressive Conservatives.

Stephen Harper treats the press like Dick Cheney treats the press. During this election, Conservative candidates were not allowed to partake in local debates for fear that they might go off script. He does not give interviews, and he does not respond to questions from the press. Lately, he's been signing trade agreements without approval of the House of Commons or the Senate, or even talking to his advisors. We're stepping into the boat you guys finally got out of.

  • Ouch. Sorry to hear that.

  • so SNL has totally lost it's cred.

  • Weird, I just watched that. I totally agree. So she's been allowed to make light of her non-availability to the press by making herself availabile to a comedy show. I did notice that Alec Baldwin wouldn't look her in the eye.

Why is Alec Baldwin staring off into the distance while he's talking to Lorne Michaels? You'd think an actor with his experience would be past cue cards for a thirty second bit.

  • yeah Baldwin made me feel uncomfortable watching him, the fuck was he doing

  • I honestly thought the Palin/Alaska Rap during weekend update was one of the funniest things I have seen on SNL in a LONG time. When that moose came out are pretended to get shot down, I about fell out of my chair laughing.

Oh, and this was pretty hilarious too:

  • It's both hilarious and scary. Goddd...

I also just thought I would link Powell on Meet the Press in case you didn't see it. He says everything so perfectly. Worth watching.

  • I also like the answer he gave that anticipated Pat Buchanan's crypto-racist question about whether Powell would have endorsed Obama if Obama were white. (pararphrasing Powell): If this was about skin color, I could have made my endorsement months ago. I was black then, I'm black now--I don't see that condition changing, and I don't base my voting on color.

  • Well, I thought about voting early yesterday...but I ended up going to Wal-Mart to buy groceries instead. I'm so American it hurts.

I have a tshirt from the local puck record store that says "Don't blame me, I voted for Buchanan." I'm old school like that.

So, I didn't follow discussion here and I don't really care for politics, but You know World is watching. And I am part of this world. We are watching You guys.
(I talking now to all Americans in this group.) All eyes on You now.

    Tell me:
Does Obama has any chance at all to win this pig race?
Or is it just wishful thinking?
Do You really believe in Change? Or is it just PR bullshit?

  • Why are you so cynical? The facts are that Obama is ahead in every national poll as well as all the local polls in the "battleground" states, and if every one of those states that appears to favor him right now falls into line, he already has enough Electoral College votes to win the presidency.

And even if massive electoral fraud occurs, the Obama team has a staggering army of lawyers and volunteers. My uncle's one of the chief coordinators in his main campaign office, so trust me, I'm IN on this shit.

Politics is cynical game. Don't be fooled. I'm not so sure about Obama being a messiah. I mean McCain acts and talks like prick. So he must be one. Another republican president would be too much. No doubt about that. But Obama? That's whole different story. His biography is all about being a president. I'm kinda scared. This dude is power seeker? What exactly is his offer? Elect me, cause I'm nice guy? Personally, I find him pretty annoying. He's already acting like he's in charge? There was this magnificent slip of tongue: "People ask me what have I learned since becoming a president?" What a prick. But what I think isn't really important. My view on politics has nothing to do with question I asked. I'm just curious bout Your perspective? Do You believe him? And if so why?
