  • Elitist Confessional

    Music related or not.

    1) I have a Kenny Chesney album on my computer. Although I dont believe I have ever listened to it, I thought I liked country a few summers ago. Really I think it just brainwashed me because I had to listen to it for like 5 hours a day at work.
---- However, I do love the song Red Rag Top by Tim McGraw.

    2) I have perfect eyesight, but look cute in glasses. What's a girl to do??? Buy fake ones. Honestly, thought about it for a long, long time and today decided to say fuck it.

What does it say about me that the first thing I thought about when I saw your topic was Dashboard Confessional?? I hope I don't have any latent emo tendencies...

Anywho, I don't know if I'll be stigmatized for some of these—elitists can have varying opinions, after all—but here are some of my more, um, controversial viewpoints:

-I can't stand Radiohead. They give me a massive headache.

-I really love the album Rio by Duran Duran. No matter what you say, it is practically impossible to hate a song like "Hold Back The Rain." I also really love Dire Straits and think that Brothers in Arms is a fantastic album.

-I have Pitchfork bookmarked. Despite their obvious biases, and the fact that it's rather en vogue to bash them, I don't think I'll ever become a true anti-Pitchfork person.

(I'll add more if I think of any, my brain's dead at the moment)

I should be ashamed of most of the things I do in my existance.. but i'm just not. I get to be part of your dandy little club anyway. Marilyn Manson, Self-Bukkake and all. I was born without shame.

I can't stand Radiohead either.. they don't give me a headache.. they bore me to shit. The Bends was their most listenable and I really liked that one song Just. I kind of like Johnny Greenwood's (is that his name? don't correct me if i'm wrong) playing.

Pitchfork is just annoying. And shame on Ruffles for wearing glasses when she has perfect eyesight, I bet you got big framed ones and then broke them and taped them back up. I bet you buy pre-ripped jeans and vintage shirts that are made to look worn, I bet you style very deliberate bed hair, I bet you make hickeys with a vaccuum.. FUCK YOU MAN! FUCKKKKK YOUUUU!

  • I know, dude. I know. Shameful.

I hate Broken Social Scene with a passion.

  • you could poke your eyes out so that your eyesight isn't so perfect.

-I think those who listen to "good" music but don't apprecate radiohead are actually mentally retarded.

-Morrisey is a cunt and The Smiths have aged incredibly poorly.

-I look at the pitchfork news page multiple times a week, and I don't hide it. I don't read their reviews or their featured artists, but their news section is really great and typically the easiest way to find out about bands touring.

-I saw Do Make Say Think and thought they really sucked. Holy Fuck showed them up in a big way.

    - in 9th grade I loved Korn.

I once rocked out at a Godsmack and Limp Bizkit gig.

I've also been listening almost exclusively to Dance music for the past week and half. Im not ashamed of that one though, because it's all brilliant.

As far as picthfork goes, I have no beef. I rarely find myself going to it though, unless I get linked to it. Infact, I don't read any music sites.. other than this.

  • I have Shaggy and Lilly Allen on my computer.

As an odd coincidence I noticed that there are some handy hints from Al Qaeda on eye removal:

To wander in the fields of flowers, pull the thorns from your heart.
  • As often as I am accused (online) of being a Pitchfork Indie Kid, I very rarely bother to look at the site.\

No Doubt is probably my only elementary school favorite that I haven't completely outgrown.

That was then, this is dumb.
  • I once told a guy I wouldn't go out with him because he likes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but the real reason was that he was ugly AND likes RHCP.

Oh an I don't like Radiohead or Broken Social Scene. I can stand them, but I don't like them.

  • Broken Social Scene and Radiohead confessions make me sad.
The rims of my glasses fill with tears, actually.

    morrisey's solo stuff is terrible

That title goes to Tom Waits.

Prince hasn't really had it for a long time; I'd pick George Clinton in the R&B/soul/funk category over Prince any day.

I like a lot of mainstream rap as good club/dance music. Not the kind music I'll listen to in my room or with headphones and whatnot, but as as pump up and/or dance type music, yes. I therefore think that those punk bitches who talk about going to their high school's dance and putting on Black Flag or whatever to be stupid and retarded.

I'm with Mod6 on dancing to shitty mainstream music at school dances. There's just something about the atmosphere of dances that completely glosses over any snobbery you may have. I will own up to dancing enthusiastically with my friends to Fergie and Ciara at prom, and when the DJ threw on Ice Ice Baby as a joke, I got out and shook my ass like crazy, dammit. (Yeah...I have an inexplicable soft spot for that song that I've never quite been able to comprehend.)

And I thought Morrissey's cuntishness was just COMMON KNOWLEDGE. But then again, I think that basically anyone who supports PETA is a cunt.

I am the last of the famous..

    International Playboys.

    Fuck you all.

You like the Smiths more after you have a godawful train wreck relationship with someone you really like. But you should like them if you have taste.

Me tooooo. I think I still actually own it to be honest, because I've never sold a CD in my life.

I should probably seek it out and set it on fire.

I am not ashamed in pointing out the grammatical error in here; it should be "I COULDN'T care less."

That's true... the way I said it didn't make sense.
