I vote yes to people who I think would make a good addition to the group.

I vote no to people who I don't think would add anything.

I usually decide this by first looking at their overall charts. If they are alright in my books, then I look at that user's most recent posts. If they seem to be fairly intelligent and look like they might have something interesting to say, I vote yes. If I don't care for their charts, or if their posts make them seem like an idiot, I vote no.

It's pretty simple.

going on charts alone, you've seemed to favor people who'd fall into the "avant" group. this guy doesn't (despite some jazz and classical) .
I think the last time you voted yes on anyone was something like six months ago.
but seeing how you take factors other than strictly charts, I guess your voting patterns make a little more sense.

Last.fm currently enables its new users to import their listening habits from such musical programs like iTunes directly to their profiles so that they can have a full musical profile from the start, like this fellow. That's why he has 2000 plays a day or so. Notice how he joined 30 Oct. 2008.
