  • Top Twenty Singles and Albums of 2006 (free music!)

Hey all. Figured since it was that time of year again, I'd share the wealth with my fellow Elitists. You can find my top twenty singles here and my top twenty albums here. Each pick comes with an mp3, so that's a total of forty mp3s for your perusal. Feel free to let me know what you thought of my picks, either here or at the community if you have a LiveJournal account. Happy New Year all!

  • I love things like this, I'm going to be doing a similar kind of highlight on my vox account during the month of January

    I make music
ersatz: adj. Being an imitation or a substitute, usually an inferior one; artificial
smile: n. A facial expression characterized by an upward curving of the corners of the mouth and indicating pleasure, amusement, or derision
  • Glad you enjoyed my lists. Anything in particular you agree or disagree with? I'm always curious as to how my picks resonate.

I ran into that Sally Shapiro song on the Pitchfork list this year and loved it (actually you both shared a lot of the same picks). Where the hell did that song come from? I've never heard of Sally Shapiro, but I want to hear more.

  • And Stylus. Can't forget Stylus :)

As for Sally Shapiro, it's a moniker she goes by. She's somewhat shy so she doesn't want anyone to know her real name. She's a big thing in Sweden from what I gather, since disco never died over there. Which means the Scissor Sisters must be doing pretty good as well.

If you're looking for additional tracks, you can find them here.
