Everything in connection with The Lounge Lizards or its former members.

The Lounge Lizards are a jazz group formed in 1978 by saxophone player John Lurie; they should not be confused with country satire group the Austin Lounge Lizards. Initially a tongue in cheek "fake jazz" combo, drawing on punk rock and no wave as much as jazz, The Lounge Lizards have since become respected for their creative and distinctive sound.

hahaha, it´s funny. I´ve been a member of this group for sooo long, without knowing one of their songs. I only went here because I´m a big Tom Waits fan, and so I knew John Lurie from "Down by Law", and now, surely 2 years after becoming a member, I bought their first record, and what shall I say....It´s completely mindblowing. I really, really love it. "Ballad" and "Do the wrong Thing" are my favorites so far. Oh and can someone explain to me, why it was called "fakejazz"? what´s so fake about it? bye fellow lizard-listeners.
