  Aero is basically just the nifty transparent stuff, nothing too special. Maybe some other effects, too, but other than that.. Still, it gives it a nice feel.

  I think I have good specs for gaming but I only need a better graphics card. I have a GeForce 8500 GT which is not really made for gaming and still kind of expensive.

  Interesting.. I don't find that the interface of Win7 has changed that much from Vista. It mostly looks more "flat" to me, rather than all the curvy shiny aerodynamic stuff. Maybe the "preview" windows and the reduction of items in the task bar to icons (which you can simply turn off, btw). I'm quite pleased with it, in any case. I still have Vista on my laptop, so it's easy to compare, heh.

  I disagree that Vista feels like OSX, but I got a bit scared when I saw the new interface for Win 7, it looked awfully a lot like anything Apple would've done. And yes, the reason why I stick around with Windows is simply because I am used to it, learning a new OS is too much of a fuss. It took time enough to get used to Vista. Well, my Vista runs just fine on my computer as my computer is made for gaming. After the recent SP2 patch, Vista actually lost 200 mb RAM usage, that's neat. And well, Vista worked on this comp too when it still had only 1 gb RAM in it (I was lazy, I took a cheap kind intending to move over the old ones that were damn good from the old comp, but it turned out they didn't fit my new mobo...), but it lagged quite some, and it kept moaning over lack of system power.

  Got Win7 for my desktop recently and I'm quite pleased with it, although the difference with Vista isn't all that big, it's certainly nicer. The only problem I have with it is finding the different settings /again/, because they changed the layout of a lot of things (esp. the control panel and the network center) again -.- Frankly, I also don't think it feels that much like Apple design-wise; Vista more so, IMO. I can't really tell if it runs any lighter than Vista, as I have a bit of a beast of a machine (i7 920, 6GB RAM.. It becomes hard to tell the difference between fast and superfast), but supposedly someone managed to install it on a Pentium II 266MHz 96MB RAM with a 1MB video card. Which took some 7hours I believe, but it runs with only 3minutes boot up time. :p Apparently, it also runs on just 64MB RAM. Also currently looking into getting a new Wacom Intuos (have a Graphire atm, which is nice and all, but a little too crude..) with my digital paint classes coming up..

  when it comes to computers, jorrizzii, there's no point in speaking to me at all. This is how I fix computer problems - "boo hoo, this doesn't work, please make it work'. Then our house mate comes down from his room and sorts it all out :) Apart from running Linux, I know absolutely nothing about the computers in our home and business. I think our house mate pretty much built them, or certainly he upgrade them.

  If I get a lappy I will definitely try out Windows 7. Using Vista right now, although I am not a fan of Apple design or any design that tries to mimic Apple. I was crying tears of blood when Winamp changed towards iTunish design with the most recent versions. I did tell you I don't like Apple? I am using Windows mostly though because I am too lazy to learn how Linux functions. Having to use OSX when I was in Spain was painy enough.

  I actually specially decided every part in my computer *flexes* I need to get a better keyboard though, but with my tendency spilling milk, water and coke doesn't really make it economical to buy something more expensive than 10 euro. I have went through over 3 keyboards just this year. What I do want is a bigger desktop screen, 17" is getting terribly small, even more so when I can plug my VGA cable into my 32" TV. The problem with the TV is that it's not very easy to play in front of it... and it has a horrible refresh rate. Well, it's not made for gaming after all. I am currently trying to save for a laptop that I can use for uni work more explicitly though, because I really dislike taking notes by writing them down. Most of the time I can't read what I've tried to write ;D Being able to write digitally would help that a lot, plus I can write down more information than I possibly could by hand since I type faster than I write.

  Hahah, bunch of amateurs. Linux isn't the only true path to enlightenment. You can install enlightenment on pretty much every half decent OS out there. Mice are RSI spreading evil rodents, all you need is a keyboard and a clit/nipple/trackpoint/whatever the red dot on thinkpads is called these days. The geek has spoken.

  Oh and that mouse you have is awesome too, Lea, I'd like one when I get a gaming desktop in the future. Not much use for it right now though, I use a tablet for literally everything. At this point I'd probably get an Intuos4 or Cintiq before a nice mouse.

  Logitech is ok. I'm not very brand loyal though, I'm more product-loyal, so each of my items is a different brand, but it's the best product I could find for what I want it to do; mp3 and sound gear is Creative, my gaming pad is Belkin (n52te), Wacom Tablet, Macbook Pro, Swissgear bag to put it in, etc. I think my laptop cooling system is logitech, though, could be mistaken.
