  You are not saying anything special, that statement ("chasing hits") applies to most 1970's bands which survived into the 1980's. (Yes, Queen, Nazareth, Pink Floyd, ELP, Rush, BTO, Foghat, Hawkwind, Journey, Kansas, Styx, Van Halen, etc). Your 1977 date is also wrong, as 1978 Weekend Warriors is the wildest & heaviest Nuge studio album.

  Nugent used to be good, until about 1977. Then he started chasing hits. Same thing happened to ZZ Top...they took on a persona to make more money, squandering what made them good: genuine-ness. Now, "The Nuge" has forgotten how to tune a guitar because he only cares for one string: a bowstring. He's coasting on his fame.
