Divide the amount you pay by the number of grams in the deal.

In your case if you are getting 3.5 gram deals (an eigth) and you are paying $20 for that then it's $5.72 per gram, which is fantastic if it's any good, I expect it to be at least twice that amount.

It all depends on:

How far it's travelled to get to you.
How many people it's been through to get to you.

If it's locally produced then the chances are you will have bought it from the person who grew it, in which case, if they aren't gang of, for example, Vietnamese mafia, then they will sell it to you at the market rate (which tends to remain unchanged for years, it's not taxed.)

If it's not locally produced then the general rule is that the further away it came from the more 'middle men' and the more middle men the higher the price because each middle man is making a margin on it.

This could also give you an idea of the political an social state of your country. If you live in an almost lawless country then it depends on who the biggest gangsters are in your country, hence why the taliban are a cheaper source because the Taliban rule about 80% of Afghanistan and they having been controlling both the cannabis and Opium trade for a long time, since before the US invasion.

They have some cheaper stuff as well in the coffeeshops but I wouldn't go much lower than 7 euros.

Edit; the coffeeshops aren't in my country though (I live near the Dutch border so it's only a 20 minute drive :P). That might also be the reason why decent homegrown is so cheap around here. You can't really compete with them quality wise but you can price wise.
