This is a group for all the people who dislike shuffle.


For those who...
.... refuse to listen to his or her music on shuffle because it is not how the artist intended their music be listened to.
.... believe albums should be played all the way through and enjoyed just the same.
.... don't like to have the music they listen to be determined by a random number generator.


If you dislike shuffle, feel welcome and join this group!
We hope you'll be an active member because we like having discussions.

Game threads are not appreciated. There are way enough groups that are full if these so there is no need for this one to become another group of this kind. It's the same with threads where people are supposed to list random things like "What are you listening to right now?".

If you do like using shuffle, please don't join. But though we would appreciate you telling us what it is the you like about it. Click here to get to the thread you can post in.

    Tyetth: Same here, I used to shuffle. Then it just kind of clicked that most (if not all) albums work best as complete albums, especially when it comes to psychedelic or progressive music... It just flows. Also, in this context, the songs I never liked so much, while they don't become favourites, become bearable (for lack of a better word). The only time I use shuffle features now is on last.fm radio and such to find new music. Once something grabs me, I listen to the album to see if it's just a passing fancy or a keeper.

    I only keep songs on my devices that I like, so my library is small at just over 800 songs, but I basically have already done the selection. Shuffle allows me to cover all those songs that maybe aren't in my mind when I am selecting, etc. I still listen to the tracks all the way through sometimes since even my MP3 may miss a song for months otherwise...

    However there is a little Paradox here . If let's say that Blasphemer ( a 'Mayhem' member) doesn't Shuffle his music, he doesn't commit a blasphemy. Then, by Reductio ad absurdum this is totally untrue, because by default a Blasphemer always commits blasphemies.

    Nothing is wrong with shuffling already (highly) customized playlists. But album shuffle and handpicking is always just the real way to go.

    If I would use shuffle for a party, the different genres would destroy the guests. Not to mention the dynamic differences (one track is really loud, while the next may have a low volume). Shuffle is good only if you want to guess your own library.

    shuffle is good - do you play whole albums at partys? even you guys use shuffle, dont deny it. You can still control what's been shuffling through right? Even if you don't its still good since you don't kill your fav songs by listening to them over and over
