Sean Smith (born December 29, 1983) is one of the two vocalists in Welsh Post-Hardcore band, The Blackout. Since their inception, the band have released two full-length studio albums and two EPs. He has often stated his passion and love for the now mostly defunct rock sub-genre nu-metal, citing Limp Bizkit as one of his biggest influences today.


Personal Life

Sean is straight. He has a close friendship with Ian Watkins, and they have matching tattoos.

Career

Sean was once a member of the locally very popular When Reason Sleeps along with The Guns singer Alex and bassist Tom, Jump The Underground's Antony, Dopez and From Ruin's Ryan. In April 2005, When Reason Sleeps played their unannounced and unscheduled final show in Cardiff's Toucan Club, support that night came from Shape Of My Addiction, Along Came Man, and My Little Murder. At this time, the other members of Ten Minute Preview (who were later to become The Blackout) were finishing educational courses or other ties and personal commitments so the timing was perfect for Sean and The Blackout to push for success.

With When Reason Sleeps and The Blackout, Sean became a popular character due to his sheer friendliness and willingness to talk to absolutely anyone. With both bands he's played shows with the likes of Lostprophets, Funeral For A Friend, Douglas, Eighteen Visions, Men, Women And Children, The Used, Story Of The Year, and many others.

Sean has contributed guest vocals for many bands over the course of his musical career:

* You Me At Six - 'The Consequence'
* ispystrangers - 'For Humour And Hope'
* Save Your Breath - 'Stay Young'
* Attack! Attack! - 'Latest Fashion'

he also joined The Used on stage for a few dates of the Taste of Chaos 2007 in which he gave guest vocals to the song "Wake The Dead"

He is also rumored to perform vocals in a smaller side-project called You. Are. Dead. Meat! where unlike The Blackout he contributes vocals alone.

Sean Smith came third in "Sexiest Male" category in the 2008 Reader's Poll for Kerrang! Magazine.[1]
