What's your fav song at led zeppelin?

I see it's difficult to shoose one...
I like the "LZ IV" album. There are such great song as "Black Dog" and "Going to California".
I don't mentoin the third song from the album couse... well, you're understanding me )

  • For me, it's always Kashmir - and it's Jimmy Page's fave too, so I'm in good company.

Good song, but personally for me it's very complex song... I mean may be it's because of my age ) To the best of my knowledge and belief middle-age people likes this song. But I may be wrong.

  • Cheers, mate! We also like cocoa before we go to bed and wear slippers and a cardigan to gigs to embarrass our kids :) Listen to Kashmir on Page and Plant's No Quarter.

Ooops... It's my mistake. I mean fourth )

  • hows about stairway to heaven that is so classic and amazing

  • Arent all great and food for thought

I love stairway, but the old recordings are nothing in my opinion to the live one on the "How the West Was Won" Disc One. As for the best song by Zeppelin in my opinion would be to close to call; and does it matter which is the best? Most of them are great and i would have to say some of the best are; Stairway To Heaven, Kashmir, When The Levee Breaks, Good Times Bad Times, and Going To California. Oh and a random comment to get some conversation going... Would you agree that overall the members of Led Zeppelin werent the best of the talented musicians in there era, most of whom werent as popular but relied so heavily on well written music and lyrics that they established a new standard for rock and roll? Just a thought.

"To be a rock and not to roll away" (Led Zeppelin - "Stairway To Heaven)
  • Jimmy Page was definitely one of the most talented musicians of his era. As for the other three they all excelled in what they did. John-Paul Jones was also a talented musician. I'm not sure about Bonham but Robert Plant was a great singer and song writer, maybe just not one of the best musicians.

  • Not sure about Bonham??????? Stick any guy wanting to play drums in front of a video, put on Moby Dick, and that's all they'll ever need to learn.

As a drummer 'moby dick' is an insanely great piece, although at the moment it seems that I can't get enough of 'bron-yr-aur stomp'. There is just something about the guitar line that I love!

  • Im sorry to have to say this but Stairway to Heaven isn't the best Led Zep song. In my opinion its not even the best on Led Zep IV because I just find Black Dog, Rock n' Roll and Misty Mountain Hop more interesting. Oh and Four Sticks. But thats just me.

  • Oh and to answer the question earlier, all the musicians were amazing and are among the best ever. Jimmy Page is just amazing. John Paul Jones played about 10 different instruments, literally. John Bonham is just awesome, take Moby Dick and no-one will ever sound as good as Robert Plant

  • it would be either the imigrant song or the wanton song...they're great

Congratulations! Your skill in reading has increased by 1 point!
  • Hey !!!!
    Achilles Last Stand !!!!!!!

  • I would have to choose "How Many More Times", from the first album. There's just something about the vicious blues breakdown running through the entire song.

Thanks for stopping by, you guys.
Thanks for breaking my cow lamp.
  • John Bonham is probably top 10 best drummers of all time.

He was heavy hitting, technical and a buffon :)
JPJ was an awesome studio musician who were recruited by Page, and showed to be one of the most important assets of Led Zep, all the organ bits done on any song is JPJ´s work, his awesome basslines, and generally contributing on any song written.

Best song is impossible to say, but Kashmir is prolly best
