PULSE (Pink Floyd) would rank highly on my list. Seconds Out (Genesis), Exit... Stage Left (Rush) and Score: 20th Anniversary (Dream Theater) are all excellent too.
Jethro Tull's Seconds Out, hands down. Great sounding (for the time), excellent performances from Tull's strongest lineup during their peak years, fantastic banter from Ian Anderson and one of the few drum solos I would care to listen to more than once. The only albums from the time and genre that comes close is Playing the Fool.
