Another band from Pittsburgh... this one formed this year and their album made it to the Billboard Top Heatseekers #27. The Morning Light... one member is actually related to Bill Deasy... another Pittsburgh singer/songwriter. Check them out; they are somewhat of a copy of what everyone listens to, but it depends what you like.

For me, Pittsburgh is great for shows, but I tend to go to smaller events. The only time I run into any problems is when there's a band that requires a medium-size venue (e.g. Radiohead), which Pittsburgh is severely lacking.

Hi MJR. I'll be honest, Pittsburgh concert draw is fairly poor. Although indie shows have been coming a lot more in the past months. Spoon, John Vanderslice, Iron&Wine and Okkervil River all within a week of each other is taking a toll on my wallet. Pittsburgh, while not New York City or whatever, is a pretty decent place.
