Pitchfork sucks.

Most rock journalism is people who can’t write, interviewing people who can’t talk, for people who can’t read.

I just discovered their reviews for Ash's Free All Angeles, Meltdown and Twilight if the Inocent, and they quite praised them. So I guess even Pitchfork doesn't suck that much. Well, sometimes...

i would say pitchfork just sucks part of the time... i've found out about quite a few bands i like through them.. but when it comes to some of the raves they give to what i would call "art punk" and shitty hip hop.. yeah they suck and what makes them suck the most? : giving kanye a perfect fucking score... no no pitchfork wtf?

@WeirdoRipper: That's just silly. Are we supposed to boycott everything they've ever reviewed?

I vow to stop reading pitchfork review to piss myself off. It only encourages them.

Personnally, I don't hate P4K, I hate the fuckers who constructs their musical taste according to their reviews and ratings. And there's A LOT. Oh and, LOL @ "There's no website like Pitchfork where you can find new artists that nobody knows" HAHAHA

Meh, I like Pitchfork. Their best of decade lists introduced me to some great music, so for that, so for that they're pretty cool in my books. I really don't pay attention to the numerical scores since they're so arbitrary and pointless and just read the reviews (which aren't as nearly indecipherable and pretentious as they once were imo). Obviously they have some pretty hilarious 0/10 or 1/10 reviews. The Lateralus review is my fave since it's so unbelievably condescending towards Tool fans (which no fanbase deserves) and reeks of pointless elitism. But I don't base my judgment of the site solely on certain extremely negative review, nor the overtly positive (see the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy review). I enjoy the reading the reviews, ignoring the pointless numbers, and appreciate the site for introducing me to bands like Cocteau Twins, The Fall, and Can, to name a few. As for the newer reviews, I take them with a large grain salt, as anyone should with reviews on the internet.

CRUXES: Uh, yes there is. Spend a couple days on RYM or look into The Wire magazine. Ten times better than shitfork.

P4K should stop giving numerical review scores on the albums they review. How they set the score higher when the reissue package of an album comes out is really hypocrisy

So great how this group's charts represent some of Pitchfork's absolute favourite artists of the last 10 years. Hypocrites.
