  • Last Soundtrack Purchased

In an atempt to revive this forum, I thought it'd be good to have a thread like this.

The Three Musketeers - Michael Kamen(found it for 2 bucks at a pawn store)

  • I just got Johnny Greenwood's, There Will Be Blood. I didn't necessarily like the movie (great acting though) however, the music is pretty creepy and weird, which I always like. ;-}

I do love Michael Kamen's, Brazil soundtrack, he's pretty awesome........nice find on the soundtrack!

  • The last one I got on CD was "Escape From New York" which I have on vinyl but I really wanted to listen to again (my cats buggered up my turn table by riding it like a merry go round).

I need to get one of those USB turn tables to convert all my soundtrack albums.

Some are quite rare (like my Tarantula pressing of "The Omen" which were almost all destroyed by 20th Century Fox).

  • I bought an Ennio Morricone vinyl. It was some kind of 'the best of' or such.

"Maahinen neito saa maasta ja mullastaan
    maahinen neito saa suudella sulhoaan"
  • Sunshine (John Murphy & Underworld). It's just stunning.

    SoundTracks via Spotify

I've been trying out lots of soundTracks via Spotify - searching on the film name or the composer. Might have to go out and buy a heap of CDs I've just discovered this way.

    (Hans Zimmer, Vangelis, John Williams...)

Its interesting some Movie SoundTracks stand as albums much better than others which have too much of the dialogue and incidental sound effects.

Does't count as buying a CD but its relevent I think...

  • "500 Days of Summer". This movie made me discover The Temper Trap almost one year ago... what an amazing band !

    Clint Mansell - Moon

  • John Williams' limited SpaceCamp from Intrada records.

“When I don't like a piece of music, I make a point of listening to it more closely.”
    — Florent Schmitt
  • Hans Zimmer - Inception

Quite the compelling soundtrack. Great driving music.

  • Inception is one of my favorite soundtracks this year.

My latest soundtrack purchase was Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which has various artists on it. It's not an instrumental soundtrack, but I still like it.

  • Just picked up a copy of The Virgin Suicides soundtrack by Air. Very well done. Have always loved this soundtrack.
