    Pretty simple really...

    Mine is a tough one because there's so many bands/artists that I absolutely love that aren't metal but if I had to pick ONE I'd say Townes Van Zandt. I don't think anyone holds a candle to him in terms of his songwriting.

  • I was so close to saying Pink Floyd. That's what makes this tricky, there's so many different types of stuff out there and it's all good for different reasons.

  • not that simple. first, where does metal end and, say, hardcore begin? second, as BPAtallboy said there is a lot of great stuff out there.
    so i´m going with Johnny Cash and The Beatles. definitely non-metal.
