No one in this group has heard of normalisr? http://normalisr.com - It will generate a widget for your profile page, among other things.

I only figured out about that recently but don't know how to delete this group.

Pontless duplicated group. http://www.last.fm/group/Users+for+Last.fm+song+length+tracking was created on 2006, and Starless_night is pretty aware of it.

That could be a problem but maybe last.fm could actually record how long you've listened to a song (say you pause it halfway through and it would only record that first half of time). Then again even with the current system last.fm should probably be able to tell the diffrence between different versions of a song.

I think the biggest problem is to do with song lengths on a song being based on how it was first scrobbled. Plus the fact that there's still no differentiation between different versions of a song

My ideal Last.fm would have an option (like you have the choice to display charts for the week, month... overall)

Pretty good idea, but I like charts. Maybe there could be an add on?

Yes GY!BE is the perfectest example!

I started a group similar to this a few months ago, only it was more isolated to how Godspeed You! Black Emperor will never move up my chart. But this is better.

If were in charge of Last.fm it would have already happened.

people also need to remember short songs... punk, lo-fi, rap and many others can go too high in your charts.

This is a good idea if you listen to post rock, ambient or classical.

that's nice. I already knew about those. The problem is I would want other people to see my charts in time played. Also normalizers are notoriously inaccurate due to rounding (aka. they are not exact measurements).

There used to be loads of last.fm tools you could use and one of them was exactly this. It didnt show in your charts but just calculated and showed you, but was still interesting and shows it can be done!
