Kesha Sebert (born March 1, 1987), better known by her stage name Ke$ha, is an American singer–songwriter. Sebert struggled on low income while pursuing her career at first. She snuck into Prince's home once; in an attempt to get him produce her music. Two of her early recorded songs, "Backstabber" (David Gamson) and "Chain Reaction", were featured on MTV's The Hills. Another song, "Former Overexposed Blonde" had appeared in an episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2006. She also co-wrote The Veronicas' single "This Love" with Toby Gad, sang background vocals for Britney Spears' song "Lace and Leather" and appeared in Katy Perry's video for "I Kissed a Girl".
Sebert gained exposure in the mainstream media from appearing on Flo Rida's single "Right Round" and in February 2009, she was signed to the RCA Records. A collaborations with 3OH!3 was also announced. She is currently working on her debut album with producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin, due to be released in late 2009. She is working with Benny Blanco as well. Sebert's first single, "TiK ToK" has been released to iTunes and is expected to be released to radio on October 5, 2009. The song was featured in the television promotional advertisements for season 6 of Project Runway.
She performed at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on August 9, 2009. Her musical credits in 2009 include co-writing Miley Cyrus' "The Time of Our Lives" with her mother, Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly, performing background vocals for the EP and featured appearances on Flo Rida and Pitbull's albums.

Hopefully TiK ToK will rise this week in the UK, it dropped from #6 to #8 but it's gone up on the iTunes store to #3 so (YN) fingers crossed! It's such a great song !
