What songs make you feel better?

I know this is a really strange thread for this forum, but I'm making it anyways.

For me, the list of songs that make me feel better is short. Well, kinda short. I mean, almost any Better Than Ezra song is on there (one of there's did make me cry once, but I couldn't recognize the emotion I was feeling so powerfully...). And for now, Name by Goo Goo Dolls is also on there...but I don't think there are any others that actually are soothing to me. So, insert my thread title here.

Music in general makes me feel better.

I think music is one of the few things that is keeping me sane in this insane world actually.

I'll just say some random ones though:

    Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun
    - Just the amount of energy and emotion in this song is enough to pick me up

The Go! Team - Huddle Formation
    - Just plain fun and happy

    Dungen - Sluta Följa Efter
    - Same as Machine Gun

The Clash - Train in Vain
    - this is always a fun one to listen to after getting rejected. Makes me feel like I'm making fun of myself when I sing it.

    The Avalanches - Radio
    - The Groove is too awesome and funky for me to be sad.

Explosions in the Sky - First Breath After Coma
    - Uplifting and beautiful

  • Le Tigre - Deceptacon
    Strapping Young Lad - Shitstorm
    Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Do Make Say Think - Goodbye Enemy Airship
Björk - Venus as a Boy
    Vendetta Red - Shatterday
Futuristic Sex Robotz - Hey Ladies
The Smiths - This Charming Man
Death Cab For Cutie - the Sound of Settling
The Devin Townsend Band - Vampira
the Pixies - I've Been Tired

same for me. some songs are more uplifting and 'happy' than others. for me, those usually are death/black/power/etc. metal songs. basically, anything that isn't doom. :P

  • hmm. Well, a lot of music.
Someone said something about EitS, but I prefer a different song, and I'll just make a list :o

    Your Hand In Mine
    No Cars Go
    Hospital Bed
    Ricochet
    Ontario Plates
    Storm
    Hollow Tree
The Past Is A Grotesque Animal (followed by the rest of the album, usually)
    Happy Yellow Bumblebee
    The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
    Same

I feel better when I listen to For My Pain or Bullet For My Valentine.
Also, Papa Roach - Last Resort is very helpful for me.

  • Anything by My Dying Bride, the more depressing the lyrics the better I feel.

Depends, sometimes melancholic sounding music makes me feel better. At other times I prefer upbeat positive music.

  • Just in general.

  • Portishead - Sour Times

I don't feel better listening to depressive music, it just increases the melancholic effect, but I still do that when I'm down.

A lot of Disturbed stuff has a motivational effect. Some good ol' powermetal if I'm REALLY happy like Hammerfall. Other than that, I simply deviate from angry music to depressive music. Sometimes both in the same time. It reflects me perfectly.

Oh, shed a tear for the loss of innocence, for the forsaken spirits who aches... in us. Cry for the heart who surrenders to pain, for the solitude of those left behind!

Think you got what it takes?
  • Found 5 minutes ago. It's EPIIIC!! I feel like I'm levitating, better and like all troubles left me ))
