Harvest Records was a record label, formed by EMI in 1969 to promote 'progressive' rock music and to compete with Philips' Vertigo label and Decca's Deram labels. Malcolm Jones and Norman Smith were in charge. The label was distributed in the US by EMI's US arm Capitol Records. It was home to such classic rock artists as Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Move, Electric Light Orchestra and Little River Band. Harvest Records' focus changed slightly as the 1970s drew to a close, beginning with the signing of the post-punk groups Wire, The Saints and The Banned. New Wave artists Thomas Dolby and Duran Duran (in the US and Canada) even released their debut albums on the label. Finally, British heavy metal band Iron Maiden's first three albums were released on the label in the US in conjunction with Capitol Records.

    Don't forget ELOY, one of the best German bands ever. They had many albums on HARVEST.
