Question tagging live tracks for 2 albums from 1 band...

What if a band has more than 2 live releases and has performed one song live on many of the live releases.

    For example (Hypothetical)

There is a band called Kokl, and they have a song called Bold that was performed live on multiple albums, let's say this.

Live Album 1 (was in Detroit, United States on 5/1/2005)
Live Album 2 (was in London, England 8/13/2007)
Live Album 3 (was in Sydney, Australia, 3/6/2009)

How would you tag this track "Bold" for each of the albums? Simply 3 "Bold (live)" tracks, or is there a specific way of writing it.

    LAST WEEK:

    RIP Michael Jackson (1958-2009)
May your soul rest in peace.
  • Just tag them with Band - Song Name (Live) imo, specific tags for each live performance will really add up in the long run

I have 15 tracks by Morrissey called Suedehead (live) [I use a small first letter for live, acoustic, demo, alternate mix etc.] all from different nights over 20 years haha

If it's on a live album, simply "Kokl - Bold" without any additional qualifier. Redundant to mark every song on a live album as live. And which album it is on tells which version it is.

I used to tag so that every Artist - Title combination was unique, but with a good media library application it isn't necessary and just look messy in the long run.

  • neowulf is right on...i have every concert the grateful dead played, so that's hundreds of versions of songs, i think it would be pointless to mark them all as, for example, Help On The Way (live) 110 times.

I tag this for this example:
    artist: Kokl
    title: Bold
album: Detroit, United States on 5/1/2005

What's the point of having it all without the person you love. Sometimes you just need to start again in order to fly.
