Members will be accepted into the group based on their charts. If you think your music library is missing some metal or classical, leave a message stating the reason why you'd like to join and some exceptions can be made. And please don't bother if you use classical music only as your lullaby...
Tagging tips.
Although last.fm accepts tags containing both the full name or just the surname of a composer, variations occur in spelling (eg. Tchaikovsky vs. Tshaikovski or Strauss II vs. Strauss Jr.). For help in correct tagging please refer to our charts and this article.
Related groups.
Extreme metalheads loving classical music - For metalheads whose favourite metal subgenres are among the more 'extreme' ones and who actively listen to classical music.
Unknown Metal - I have found many artists with classical influences from this group (ie Nihil, ColdWorld, Eden weint im Grab, etc).
Contemporary Classical - Classical music made after the last World War.
Classical - The default classical group.
Instrumental Metal - If you come from a classical background, metal vocals might be hard to digest at first, in this case try this group.
Symphonic Metal - 'Symphonic metal is a term used to describe metal music that has symphonic elements; that is, elements that sound similar to a classical symphony.'

There's a group called Unknown Metal, where the leader provides weekly newsletters (usually three bands posted on the forums). Since the current leader asked me to cover for him, I shall do so for couple of weeks. About C&M's playlist: I think I should do it every two months, otherwise I'm going to run out of ideas (and lossless material). If there's anyone who is interested in making such playlists (it's quite a long and thoughtful process), let me know. We could provide a more stable newsletter that way. And of all the classical genres, I prefer minimal and contemporary, so the playlists might be a bit biased.
