ABOUT CHILLOSOPHY
"Errr...chillosophy? whaddat?"
Not surpisingly, many of us define "chill music" in different ways and come at it from different subgenres of electronica such as ambient, idm, downtempo, psytrance as well as crossover indie-electro acts like Telefon Tel Aviv and Múm.
That's as it should be really, since one object of interesting music is to challenge the boundaries within which it operates. Likewise, most listeners are not satisfied by only one genre or sub-genre of music.
Hopefully our little group here at AS adds to this eclectic perspective and helps us all learn more about new music that we might not have known about otherwise.
And of course, the philosophy of chillin' is more than just music--it's about keeping it cool and expanding the mind in all sorts of ways. To paraphrase Morcheeba, it's the music that binds us.
