New Years Eve 2008- I wish you the best for 2008 !!! Youth is when you're allowed to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Middle age is when you're forced to. ~Bill Vaughn An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. ~Bill Vaughan

Saw Bob in Vancouver last weekend. He looks so joyful onstage these days - bopping around, pointing at the crowd, dancing and shuffling. How many 67 year olds can get out there 100 nights a year and entertain a crowd like he does? Musically, he keeps coming up with new arrangements for old tunes, throwing in unexpected rhythmic variations and using his voice like a jazz soloist, working changes on the old melodies. What else can you expect from someone who's performed some of those songs more than a THOUSAND times? People just want to talk about what Dylan did in the 60's, but I think what he's doing right now as a musical artist is far more interesting. His last 3 studio albums represent a man moving from folk rock star to American musical legend. He's creating a legacy that will last 100 years or more. Incomparable.

Yeah it is really a shame that Dylan suffered so much abuse for playing the music that he wanted to play. I don't really understand why people thought they had the right to expect something from him like they did. It's a shame because it no doubt had a big influence on Dylan's decision to totally change his direction from 1967 onwards for quite some time, and to stop touring. Right in his absolute musical prime in my opinion.

Judas was, according to the bible, one of Jesus's disciples who ended up betraying him, so calling someone a "Judas" is to say they are a betrayer. Bob Dylan would have been called this because of his switch from the traditional acoustic folk style he was known for to electric rock and roll with a band backing him. Audiences were probably startled and thought of him as "betraying" his folk roots...leading to the Judas comment and other shouts of protest you can hear on that epic album =)

Could someone please explain to me the "Judas!" shout from the crowd just before Like a Rolling Stone on the 4th Bootleg (The Royal Albert Hall performance). I've seen it quoted places and i'm sure it means something
