Fly?

who else besides me is in love with this song? i bought it from the nuclear blast site yesterday and it rocks! its very different, but in a good way. im going to wait until its released in stores to hear the other 2 songs on the single. it keeps me excited :D

At the moment I'm happy just by knowing my Amazon order of "Fly" (together with De-Loused in the Comatorium and The Queen Is Dead ;-)) is on its waaaay. ^.^

It's great. Sounds a bit like ANATO, but, eh, it's a healthier bit straight than the ANATO-songs. Funny Beginning. "Walk like an Egyptian"-alike. ;-)

i think (the vocal at least) sound alot like the new D&W album. im just happy the guitars will be audible on the new album.

Yep, after ANATO Hansi thought of reducing the choirs. Because it took too much time making them. And they lost the overview while working with 250 Hansi voices. ;-) And that's why it sounds more like D&W, I guess.

I agree they aren't as important, but its nice to have them higher in the mix. "To France" was almost entirely keyboard, and it rocked :)

The single Fly was well apperciated by the totalrock crowd tonight.

i recon every one should go and buy the single Fly right now !!!!!!
We bought Fly last Friday when it came out and this is the 1st new bg for nearly 4 years.This is only the single the album will be out later this year.
We imagine the whole album is going to rock after hearing this,

The cover of Iron butterfly's In A Gadda Da Vida is an interesting cover they turned a 15 minute song into 3 mins 37 and it really is good.Hansi's voice is as medolic and powerfull as ever. the lyrics are great. The whole band rocks big style

I like "fly" very much but I prefer "Skalds and Shadows" better :) it sounds a little like a "Past and Future Secret" and for me is fantastic!!! what do you think about it?

At the moment it is my favorite, too. Some kind of mixture between "Past & Future Secret" and "Maiden & Minstrel Knight". I wonder how the "normal" Version will sound like...

I think I´m the only one here with a different opinion

Well, I confess and I hope you guys don't kill me, but I didn't like Fly. I havent listened to the others song of the single, so my opinion is only about the song Fly itself.

It´s too damn different from the Blind Guardian I like (that one from SFB and IFTS and older things). I didn't like ANATO as well. Ok, there are some nice things, but I think they are not being, ahm, direct as they used to be.

There... you can all call me names now ;)

I like Fly but I`m sure that it won`t be one of my favourite BG songs. For me Hansi`s voice is too high in this song and sometimes I have a feeling that it`s even too high for him ;)

Hello people, I just joined a few minutes ago :-)

At first I really didnt know what to think of Fly but after a few listens I really like it. Like Hansi said on the website it's still very much a Blind Guardian song, even if they're trying a few new things.

I like Scalds and Shadows, it does sound somewhat like Past and Future Secret but I like it better. And like someone said earlier, it has some hints of Maiden and the Minstrel Knight (which is great cos im in love with that song)

Nah, i can totally understand why some people might be put off by it. It is quite different to the usual BG stuff. I actually found A Night at the Opera to be VERY different to the usualy BG stuff, especially if you look back at Tales from the Twilight World and Imaginations...

At this point I dont have any idea on what to expect from the new album. XD

Personally, I loved ANATO and was kinda hoping they'd stick more to that. But that's just me, I'm into all the orchestral and choral arrangements and stuff.

Yeah it's a great song! But It's a pity that BG is no more speed/power metal band...
Skalds And Shadows is a good song, but i think it is a self-plagiarism...

It's a song able to stand with the best ones. I'm talking about quality like Mirror Mirror. So I can't wait to listen the album! But seeing the tracklist, it looks like no epic song :(
