  Gidday to the group. As I mentioned in a previous shout, there is a bit of confusion on Last FM regarding "Claymore". If you are interested, www.claymore.org is the official celtic band's website. A mix of traditional scot and irish with rock. I love 'em :-))

  Hello from Australia to all in the group. Thank you Roy for accepting my membership application. I will throw in a few scottish artist suggestions for connecting to the group, but there are so many, like Jo said. There may be one or two suggestions from left field here, but here goes...Wolfstone (celtic rock), Runrig (celtic again), Shooglenifty (Celtic / folk), The Battlefield Band (celtic / folk), Red Hot Chille Pipers (Pipes / rock), Claymore (Celtic rock, not the European bands of the same name but a Melbourne, Australia band with a champion piper, and an ex pat scottish singer), AC/DC (Off the wall, I know, but the Young brothers are scottish who's family emmigrated to Australia, and Bon Scott the first singer (now dead) was in a Pipe band in Perth, Australia, snare drumming as a teenager.!).......There will be many more once I actually put my mind to it. Celtic, especially scottish, bands are reviving Scottish pride and popularity through their take on traditional tunes. Glen : )

  Hi what a wonderful group! Great things Scottish - I have to agree about Salsa Celtica plus The Blue Nile, Teenage Fan Club, Ballboy and John Martyn, who sadly died recently he was, I think, one of the most underrated artists of all time. On a more general level I like the glorious spirit of independence which no amount of crushing defeats seems to dampen. Dislikes - Midges and bigotry - the Ballboy song The Sash My Father Wore perfectly describes a certain sort of idiot who is unfortunately all too common in Scotland. Sigh.
