For people who support the art of non-commercial metal and despise commercial music that has absolutely no value whatsoever.

Nuclear Blast may still have a few good bands signed to them (i.e. Blind Guardian, Candlemass, etc.), but the majority of them have either sold out or always sucked. They used to be a good label, until they became big in the late 90s. They harmed the metal scene in many possible ways by corrupting many good bands and musicians. Let's hope they don't do the same to Immolation and Unleashed.

You might find the following quote to be quite interesting:

"The whole thing between us and Nuclear Blast went totally upside-down when they became so big label by signing all these big bands like Manowar, Danzig, Hammerfall and so on. When we were working on the Death Metal album in ´97, they called us to the studio and asked to listen to the stuff via phone. Can you believe it? Well, then we agreed to play our new stuff for them a little bit and they were like: “Oh no guys… you cannot do this kind of stuff, this doesn’t sell, you have to change your style…”, etc."
-Matti Kärki, Dismember

Why would anyone ask such a stupid question? Because the label sucks. Good thing i don't listen to metal anymore, at least not much as i used to.

In other news, Nuclear Blast DID do the same thing to Immolation and Unleashed. Let's hope they don't do the same thing to Decrepit Birth.

You're implying that only the genres you're interested in are actually good... oh, you...

Thrash Metal is what makes up Metal. It's the "non-poser" metal. If we were to dismiss Thrash, we'd have to dismiss all of Metal because, the vast majority of Metal in general isn't special. The only genres I'm interested in are; Black Metal, Funeral Doom and NWOBHM/Traditional Metal.

Rites. Death metal, Power metal, Nu-metatl and -core are the corrupt of metal.

Um, I wouldn't say any of these bands have really sold out (with a few exceptions.) In the metal community they have, but in the big picture no one is ever gonna realize. Soilwork and Chimaira are pretty bad though. No complaints with the rest of the bands though.

I'm pretty sure that Dissection had The Cold Winds before The Somberlain. They played it live in local concerts. It was one of their originals.

Definitely. Or, I'd better say, I personally hate that band. The group is against the label itself, not really against any specific band.

I never actually knew that Tomas Nyqvist had problems with Jon Nodtveidt. I recall him referring to Storm of the Light's Bane as the BEST album on Nuclear Blast Records. Tell me where you found this source because, I am really intrigued by this battle between Tomas Nyqvist and Jon Nodtveidt, The Soulreaper. I thought the big problem was promoting "The Past Is Alive The Past Is Alive" because, Jon wanted to do that and then immediately departure Nuclear Blast - on his journey through his inner black flame.

I know that Jon Nodtveidt had problems with dealing with record labels, possibly more so in No Fashion. The leader of No Fashions he felt was not doing his job properly. He was slacking off and leaving bands with poor amounts of pays and recruiting any bands. I believe he wasn't exactly the chairman at the time, the CEO I guess is the closest term. Anyway, Jon also encountered some problems with the time delays because, of this slacker, who signed too many bands at the same time which later gave problems, financially and both delays. After complaining, he got Jon's EP onto a Chicago label. I didn't know Jon ever hit Tomas for scamming him. Where did you discover this?

Oh, and the reason why Dissection left Nuclear Blast is because, Jon had encountered troubles with negotiating with them. He felt they were far too hasty and he wanted his releases to be well known for their originality. I think that it's horrible that they put him under such pressure. Dissection does what they do. Not what Nuclear Blast wants them to do. That applies with every other band.
