Paul Ruskay - Official Game Soundtrack for 'Homeworld' (If you ever got to hear it, you'd know why....the battle music is stunning.)
oh, yes - even if you didn't play the game, even if you don't like games - try the music! it's great!

other things are (without specific order):
Substrata - no comment ;)
Amber - their most "delicate" and deep album. my favourite.
Atol Scrap - great mix of minimal idm and ambient
Journey of Enoch - incredible minimal dark ambient. movie for ears. story without words. full album here

Everything M83 and Broken Social Scene has made. I seem to love everything they put out.

Some of these may not be pure ambient (AAS and BSS, but that fits their title best I think)
