  I've never listened to a Christian artist that actually preaches. There's definitely a distinction between preaching, praising, and reflecting one's own struggles with faith. People are so full of hate.

  I agree that Christian is not a genre. But I still like when people tag bands as such here on last fm because it helps when I'm trying to find new bands that I might like [a lot of my music is not Christian; but if a band has good music AND Christian themes it's a bonus to me.] [2] I so agree with this! I hate it when people are like "Oh this is christian, so I'm not going to listen to it." I'd rather listen to Christian themed songs, and not bands who just have a "Jesus party" with other Christians, but extend their faith out to those who aren't. But at the same time it's nice to know that a certain band is composed of christian members.

  Christian isn't a genre its a theme, but people are allowed to tag music with whatever they like. A good example of a stupid tag is the 'Officially Shit' tag. At least if a band with christian themes is tagged 'Christian' you know what the theme of all their music is going to be.

  this group makes me lol. christians choose to alienate themselves, and i think that is a good thing because I dont listen to music to be preached at. therefore, if something is labeled christian, i know to avoid it.
