Audioscrobler crashing iTunes on OSX Snow Leppard

  • Hmm. I moved the plugin as above but last.fm put it right back! I now have two AudioScrobbler.bundle files, one which I moved and one newly created in the plugins folder.

My problem may be slightly different though, as iTunes is crashing very randomly, not just when playing CDs, most often, it seems. when ipod is plugged in.

Annoying. Going to try 10.5.1 see if that helps...

  • Yep, just noticed this same behaviour. The plugin file seems to be recreated in that folder.

  • Had the same problem...Itunes (on mac os 10.6.8) crashing while changing Tracks on a CD..tried the solution with moving the AudioScrobbler bundle out of the iTunes Plug In Folder and now it's working perfectly...scrobbling and listening to CD's via itunes
    strange bug, should get fixed

edit: ok it's not working totally perfect, somehow the audioscrobbler bundle is coming back into the iTunes Plug in Folder and I have to put it out manually so scrobbling is working without crashing; additionally the scrobbler doesn't start together with iTunes

  • Same problems, except I don't even see the plug-in listed in my iTunes Plug-In folder so I have nothing to remove. Still crashes.

    Me too

iTunes also crashes due to the AudioScrobbler.bundle plugin when trying to play a cd in iTunes. The first track plays fine, but moving to the next track crashes iTunes. My mom had the same problem.

Removing the AudioScrobbler.bundle from ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins works, but the Last.fm app will put it back. So either don't use the Last.fm app anymore or rip the cd before playing it.

    iTunes 10.5.3
    Last.fm 1.5.4.28012
    Mac OS X 10.7.3

Been having this problem for a couple months but just found this thread on it. I don't listen to CD's on my computer that often, but it's incredibly frustrating when it happens.

  • Can you let us know if you still experience this issue with the beta version of the new client?

This issue doesn't happen with the new beta client for me. Which is nice. Though the beta client is still rough around the edges in a few places compared to the current client.
