Scrobbler can't scrobble because LastFM. Disagress with my PC's Time

  • Scrobbler can't scrobble because LastFM. Disagress with my PC's Time

Yes I did read the "Please read this before posting on the forum" and the FAQ's
"What can I do if the Scrobbler tells me that my time or time zone is wrong and that I can't scrobble because of this?"

    And they're not much help, so here I'm posting my problem which is ;

I've tried "correcting" my time except every time I enable the option; "“Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time”" , this throws my time out of whack. I've tried enabling - "automatically synchronize with an Internet time server." But for some reason they're throwing my Time out of whack too!!
I've double and triple checked my date, day, year, and time zone correctly so they're set.

I am using Windows XP SP2
    Last.FM Scrobbler version is 1.5.2.38918
I am using Winamp version V5.54
My media player plugin is Winamp Plugin version 2.1.0.9

-tracks do report on the "Now Playing" tab
    - Scrobbling is set to enable

btw: my Last.FM scrobbler used to work perfectly before the daylight savings time took place, after that my PC kept going out of synch until I disabled the synchronization of daylight savings time and the internet time server, but now if I enable them again they will still change my PC's time incorrectly. And I've delayed in fixing this issue since March but now it's bugging the heck out of me. Please Help :)

Since SP2 came out (in 2004?), Microsoft have released a number of updates to cover changes to daylight savings time in different parts of the world. You might want to install SP3 and updates?

I actually just downloaded the latest last.fm Scrobbler client today to a brand-new computer (bought today) and it is saying that it cannot scrobble because it disagrees with the time. The time, however, is set to a) the actual time in my time zone, and b) the same time zone as my last.fm settings. :o\

  • Im also having this problem >:( Iv tried all of the above with no luck.what to do what to do?

  • Updated to LastFm. V. 1.5.4.24567

okay guys my lastfm is working correctly now that I've updated to V. 1.5.4.24567. My previous version was 1.5.2.38918 which seems to have that time zone bug issue.

Hope this helps anyone out there with similar issues

  • Same problem! My scrobbles is the latest version (1.5.24567) but it still doesn't scrobble! Help please.

  • Do this, it might help you with time trouble:

    1. Install ALL updates microsoft gives as essential/critical. XP SP3 included! Also get the latest last.fm client.

    2. Select the correct time zone in the windows settings, and select the right time server (a close one for example - altho it might not matter, it balances load)

    3. Select the correct time zone in last.fm

What is your situation software and hardware alike? What is your timezone and country? Maybe I can help you further.

    p.s. last.fm doesn't notify me of replies..?

  • I've been having this problem since Daylight savings time too. I finally changed my clock to the right time but now I can't scrobble.

If we didn't use this stupid method of preventing "cheating" we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

EDIT: Fixed it. The date was one day ahead. It was 5/12 instead of 5/11
