Quick ipod/itunes question

  • Quick ipod/itunes question

The FAQ doesnt help and I didn't see anything on the forums after a quick search

I manually manage my ipod and i don't keep any of my music on my hard drive apart from stuff I've recently downloaded. So all my music is on my ipod

Is there anyway that this scrobbling thing could just look at my ipod library and use that. I tried the diagnostic thing but it just gives that missing path file error, and theres no point "consolidating the library" because all thats doing is backing up the couple of hundred songs i actually have on the hard drive and putting it in the itunes folding, just wasting space.

So is it possible to use last fm if the songs arent on your hard drive?

for last.fm tro scrobble your ipod plays, you need to have the relevant tracks in your itunes library (and then on a hdd) for the client to be able to extract the information it needs to submit the scrobbles.

  • so in simpler terms, if it's not on the HDD, it's not possible

Would it be so hard to put that in the FAQ?
