Does the last.fm WMP plug-in work with the 64-bit WMP ?

Cause if it does I can't get it to recognize the plug-in, what should I do?

  • 32/64 bit is not relevant. What are your WMP versione and client version? can you describe the problem or the error you get, if you get any?

I'm using the 64-bit WMP 11 (Version 11.0.6001.7000) and the most recent last.fm client (version 1.5.2.38918) and windows media plugin (version 2.1.0.6).

I don't get an error message and everything appears to install correctly but there is no last.fm plug-in to be found in the 64-bit WMP plug-in menu.

I've tried reinstalling the client and detecting media players with the last.fm client, including manually adding WMP 11 by browsing for the .exe

It is enabled in the 32-bit WMP.

Hey sickSICK, I have the 64bit version of Vista at home and will double check to make sure it recognises the plugin tonight, but I'm 99% sure it does...

Well what do you know, I'm sure that used to work, but now it doesn't. I must've been imagining it but it's very weird since I recently had to reinstall Last.fm on this computer so I can't really test if I am going mad and it used to work or not... Sorry!

I'm running WMP11 (11.0.6001.7000) with Last FM (1.5.2.38918) on Windows Server 2008 x64 without problems.

Vista x64 SP1 Home Premium, 32-bit WMP (11.0.6001.7000) works fine, 64 bit WMP (11.0.6001.7000) not working. Last.fm clinet version 1.5.2.38918, plugin version 2.1.0.6. It's plugin problem, not clinet.

The issue is that you should continue to use the 32bit version of Windows Media Player, as is the default on Windows Vista x64:

    Same thing...

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64, but Microsoft (for an unknown reason) put the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions of the WMP in the same OS, the problem here is that Microsoft use the 32 bit version as the default, but some of us switch to the 64 bit version, in my case because i use a 64 bit "skin". The LastFM client does not recognize this version, but the 32 bit.

You can check this out by going to the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders and find the WMP folder inside of both.

I was looking for a solution for this but i got none, so i realized the only solution for people like us is LastFM to deliver a x64 plugin :(
