massive overscrobbling

massive overscrobbling

when i look at my artists played in the last 7 days it shows 300-500 plays from bands i didnt listen to that much. when i look at individual songs scrobbled, almost all songs are scrobbled 5 times or so in a row. whats going on? this has seemed to happen on and off ever since the immediate last 7 days thing was created

i mostly got mad when lostprophets jumped in my top 10 because my brother played them while i was at work

I've experience the same issue tenfold, when my iPod was last scrobbled there were more playcounts of songs then was possible for me to have listened to in the time interval since my last scrobbling.

Also, sometimes when I go to scrobble my iPod playcounts show up from well over six months ago, despite the fact that I scrobble my iPod almost everyday.

I assume he's referring to the implementation of the rolling charts.

same thing happening to me, seems randomly between 2 and 6+ scrobbles per play each at the same time
got an ipod touch with 2.0 software and latest itunes/last.fm software

This could be something due to a damaged/corrupted plugin...have you tried to remove and then install again?

well i did alot of page clicking and found that the problem began july 19th - i wish i had identified it earlier : ( is this when any changes were made by chance??

well an hour into deleting songs i found that a song repeated many times but scrobbled in the same minute can have all the repeats deleted by just deleting one instance for anyone else as ocd as i am this is speeding it up

Same happened to me last week via the iPhone app. The whole submissions server seemed to be a bit wonky at that time, so I attributed it to that.

same here. some tracks i listened to only once have been registered 40 times (!) each. oh, wait, now they're at 69x each. it keeps adding up. interesting.
