'Proxy settings', i don't use it!

I had this problem yesterday.

But now Last.fm doesn't even let me log in! It says 'if you use proxy to connect to the internet, please click the button below to enter your proxy details'
I have changed my password (to both), deleted last.fm, uploaded last.fm, started my computer again, my firewall settings allow last.fm... I don't know what to do.
Yesterday i let me log in, but not anymore..

I have windows vista and i have the newest last.fm.
Hopefullu someone can help me :/

change your password back to what it was

you changed your pass back on the site? and then changed it to that in the client?

what does it say in your tools > diagnostics?

Yeah, i changed it to the both..
I can't log in, so i can't get to the diagnosis. It tells about the proxy settings when i'm trying to log in.

proxi settings

i have the same problem;
i did a total pc cleaning an now last fm ask "proxi settings"
What are the proxi settings??

Same problem

I also get this problem... I am a new user to Last.FM and after installing the software and trying to log in, it asks for Proxy details. I ain't using a proxy either! I don't have a problem connecting on my iPhone 3G via my WiFi router, the same router as my PC uses.

Proxy settings the ability to transfer data via another another server.
they can be found in last.fm under tools-options-connection and also in internet explorer under tools-internet options-connections-lan
settings on any normal pc all proxying options should be turned off. If neither of those are the cause let me know.

Mylaptop connects via my wireless router in my house.... I have had the same connection issues. It's a new laptop only three days old, but I do have a firewall turned on... could that be the source of my problem? or should I enter in the IP address of my wireless network and password for the proxy options?

no you shouldn't need to use a proxy. Just something to bear in mind is that all routers use a thing called NAT this is virtually an unbreakable firewall. so getting firewall software on you PC is less of a requirement all PC firewalls do these days is defend against viruses that are already on an other PCs you have. Hence I feel all these internet security packages a usually a rip off get get some decent anti virus with anti spyware.
Anyway back to the question it mite be worth turning off your PCs firewall. But i would put money on it being an issue with you wireless connection the easiest way to check that is to wire the PC into your router temporarily. If that solves the issue. then a more advanced configuration of you wireless card will probably fix the issue.

Problem, Problem .. No Solution

I had the exact same problem. both the browsers work with Proxy Settings, and even Last.FM client use to work until last week it stopped suddenly for no apparent reason. I tried reinstalling but after installation it asks if I have proxy settings, on specifying it shows some error and loops back to previous message of asking for proxy settings. I don't know what to do ... this has never happened before. I have over 28 K scrobbles on proxy settings, my proxy server allows last.fm as I can open my account in my browsers, but somehow client fails to log in.

Moderators, please ... kindly look at the problem at the earliest.

Not sure there is much to do since proxy/nat/firewalls are local problems. Wich kind of error message are you receiving exactly?
Have you got in touch with your system administrator, since if the client broke all of the sudden and you didn't personally changed anything about your software configuration, very likely admins could have changed settings and permission on the proxy.

I have a similar problem. My last.fm wasn't scrobbling, so I deleted it, got the new version and installed it, and now I can't log into the damn thing, I get the user/pass windom, write everything and it won't connect, it suggests I enter proxy settings, but I don't use proxy, I get internet via my wireless connection to the desktop PC.

The exact message is - Could not connect to the Internet to verify your user details.
If you use a proxy, please click to enter proxy settings.

I'll try reinstaliing it now, will return with results. Thanks for any help.

Tried before cause I'd thought I forgot my pass, changed it and tried. Will try it again tho, but I'm kinda deploying my waiting tactics for this one, since it got me pretty agitated :)

Proxy Settings, I also don't use them.

I tried adding last.fm to my allowed list, I tried completely turning off my firewall, and still it asks me about a Proxy. I pretty much only use FireFox and don't use a proxy with that. This is driving me totally bonkers. Does it have anything to do with me being on a pogolink network??
