Have you tried the build in this thread? (we linked it from the blog but it doesn't seem to have filtered through to here).

  • That link was posted on page 1 of this thread, guess some people got too caught up on other issues to bother clicking... I've been using it for days now and it works fine.

I suspect this is a Qt thing?

Oh, and although I was able to get the code from SVN, it is not at all clear what is needed to get it to build :-(

Yeah, I don't think QT works particularly well on OS X to be honest.

I have the code, I have had it for months, I wanted to try and fix a bug, but nobody responded with the requirements for building from source, and the documentation included with the source is non-existent, which is like...really irritating.

I couldn't figure it out at all. :-(

iScrobbler is the way forward for OS X. Lightweight, unobtrusive, small memory footprint, no bloody QT. lol.

Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference....
  • Whoever started whistle blowing over the word fuckload can go fuck themselves.
    ass hats

  • Can't wait to resume scrobbling....

Love Leopard....now....if Last.fm would just let me resume scrobbling....

    Damn.

  • Over the weekend I found that my mac was crashing... i.e the you need to restart error... I've just ported my iTunes over to this mac from another one and installed last.fm scrobbler... before it wasn't doing it... my Panic Coda was also crashing...

now that i have uninstalled last.fm my mac isn't crashing, it may be a coincidence... but thought I'd mention it... as to people complaining that it doesn't work... are you a small minority? and if so could that be because other software is not written correctly and not last.fm...

I think people should calm down a bit, before they start shouting mouths off... I'm sure last.fm are doing their best to sort it...

My site mimeartist.com will just have to sit with Pet Shop Boys as my last track played for now :)

  • Last.fm Helper not responding in new build

The only problem I am finding with the new build (listed in late October) is that upon opening, the last.fm helper shows that it's not responding in the Activity Monitor, and eats up an ever-so-slight amount of memory. Other than that, no freezing problems.

  • 1.2.1

iScrobbler 1.2.1 works flawlessly under Leopard. The only gripe I've got at the moment is that I can't scrobble tracks played in Front Row, but this is Apple's fault for changing the way music is played in it.

Anyone else feel like 10.5 is more of a beta than an official release? Bugs galore on my mac mini, not massively impressed.

When I open the client it opens twice. I have 2 icons appear, one crashes while the other works sometimes.

    Hope a update is coming.

I've got the same exact problem but the one that stays "alive" seems to be working fine for me...

    Re:Re: Web 2.0 professionalism

It's what works, some people need to get over the bullshit about presentation and realize it's the job that needs attention. The end justifies the means sometimes :)

Well said. I appreciate the frankness of the last.fm staff.

1.2.1 is very old, but good to know it still works. :)

1.5.2 is the latest stable release, and Frontrow Leopard works again in the 2.0 beta (which also has other Leopard specific enhancements).

Are you sure you weren't running both iScrobbler and the Last.fm client at the same time?

  • still no fix yet? damn its been a month

    2 icons

So I think the reason there are two icons is that one is an application that just senses when you open up iTunes, because I can force quit that one and last.fm won't open automatically when iTunes opens.

If the two icons really bother you, you can just open last.fm so there are two icons, then right click on each and force quit the one that does not have a regular quit option. Everything still works fine then.

It would be nice if this other icon thing could just run in the background.

I take it you didn't read the following post, at the very top of this page. Nor did you then try to peruse that forum any further.

The application is working correctly (Leopard too) but it doesn't scrobble anything (same thing is happening to me with Coversutra too)...

    Yes, tuckload is nothing...

I did sometesting, fact, ipod clasics 80, 160 6G dont work at all with the client how about a small plugin for the client xmms, that is free gpld and will solve a lot.

    http://xmms.darwinports.com/

This kind of problems will keep apearing everytime apple decides to mess with itunes and or the libs in the system wich are the real problem and no itunes, I´m programing on mac and the problems keep showing up every update of either 10.5.x or itunes.

    :)

    Just my 2cents.

    No hopes?

So? the app will never work on Leopard???
The OS has been updated up to 4 times and still no Last.fm client working? :o

  • You would think that successful iPod/iPhone/iTunes scrobbling would be a, I don't know, priority or something. Sadly....

    Mmmm???

  • Sigh... okay, so I have this problem with last.fm... or I don't know if it's the computer itself. All my programs that have/playsound work okay with the speakers I plugged to my computer; except for last.fm scrobbler. For some stranger reason, last.fm is playing the sound through the internal speakers, meaning, the one in the hardrive/tower. Anyone have any ideas?
