About "Artist" & "Album Artist" Tags in Mac OS

The Scrobbler always scrobbles the "Artist" label in iTunes, but sometimes the album is made by various artists. So the track scrobbled could be wrong. It should scrobble the "Album Artist" tag!

For example, a song from Nitin Sawhney's album named "Chetan Jeevan (Conscious Life)" was performed by "Nitin Sawhney/Reena Bhardwaj/Singh, Davinder Vikhyat", so the Scrobbler should regard the "Album Artist" as the artist. "Nitin Sawhney" is the correct label.

(Sorry for the bad English) I hope someone can notice this, and give me an answer, ok?

Or you could tag better. In that instance Nitin Sawhney is always the artist. The others are guests.

This is by design, and logically so.
The Artist tag is the name of the band playing a particular track, and is always valid, even on a VA album.
The Album Artist tag is "Various Artists" for a VA compilation album, and many media players make it difficult to individualize its value for different artists sharing an album.
At least Last.fm gets it right :) A couple of other scrobble hosts failed badly at this, and scrobbled the Album Artist; as a result of which no VA albums would scrobble with the correct track artists :(

No. No it's not, because the artist tag SHOULD be where you put featured artists too.

By your own words, "The Artist tag is the name of the band playing a particular track". So if it's featuring someone else, then it would go there. Since they're also playing it.

Yet last.fm would create an entire new artist page based off that information.

Feature tags on song titles is retarded. So don't even get me started.

Album Artist is the lesser of two evils in my opinion. I can't even use feat. tags in my library because of last.fm. I just shove them into the comments instead. Since I'm not putting it in the title, because it's stupid, and I can't put it in the artist tag where it should go because last.fm is stupid.
