I got the same issue, all special characters are replaced with question marks, though my mp3 tags are correct. The same happens to artists biographies showing in scrobbler, while on website all characters are OK. And one another thing, the scrobbler auto-miscorrects album titles. That started today.

    That's how it is scrobbled:

And that's how it should be:

Please notice that on my profile you can see at least 3 different covers, while all songs have the same album title in tags.

    Here is the scrobbler view:

And here is the artist's profile page with correct text:

  • same trouble, scroble counting stopped..... just can see what played now....

  • Similar problem - artist bio is written in characters.

    same issue, starting today:

  • I've never encountered this problem before!

  • same here with japanese characters. O:

  • same as all above screen shots

  • I'm just going to play English title songs or artist until this is fixed, otherwise they'll get scrobbled wrong. This is pretty inconvenient, I hope it's fixed soon.

edit: some songs characters show up, but when they do the album art doesn't.

  • I've put here logs of the scrobbler client

the mentioned track (??? - Lovely Day) did not appear yet as scrobbled
(but e.g. another track later with Asian chars (Thái Hiền - Bóng Cũ Chiều Mưa) got scrobbled)

  • Same here. All Korean characters are replaced with question marks.

Same issue. It shows correctly on my profile page when playing, but incorrectly after getting scrobbled. Eg: Negură Bunget shows as Negură Bunget in "Listening now", but shows as Negur? Bunget after getting scrobbled.

exactly the same here, all the Korean and Japanese tags appear correctly while scrobbling on the profile, but the characters are replaced for "???" on the client and after getting scrobbled ):

  • Same problem... I just switched from a mac to a pc and I thought I was doing something wrong, but I installed the language pack for Japanese, and it was showing the correct kanji and kana in my music player. After googling it, I thought it might be a problem with winamp so I tried WMP and even downloaded iTunes and got the same problem.

I know it's only Last.Fm, because the status message in my MSN shows the kanji with no problem. And I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my PC because the characters normally show up as squares when the language pack isn't there, and they're showing up as question marks in last.fm.

I'm getting this problem too, but only on last.fm. Some of my songs in Korean are showing up as question marks (?). Certainly weird, so I guess I'll stick to English titles until this is fixed.

  • same issue here too. hopefully it'll be sorted soon :)

  • Yeah,I'm having the same problem with the last.fm player for windows :( The Korean Names (written in Hangul),the japanese names (in kanji),the greek names and the bulgarian names is not being showed properly =\ Hope this will gonna be fixed soon :x PS:This problem is just happening on the player, because the scrobble is being done correctly.Yep.

  • So I'm not the only one with this problem D;

  • Same here.

  • wtf, it was able to before and now this shit is happening. it shows up, and then goes to this ?????

Not everything is what it seems.
