How to block specific tracks from being scrobbled?

I've tried excluding the directories that the files are in, but the tracks still end up being scrobbled. Is there a way to do this automatically without having to turn on/off scrobbling manually? And in the case of iPod scrobbling, without having to check/uncheck the tracks?

  • Are you sure that excluding the directories doesn't work? That would sound like quite a bug to me.

Apart from that there's no real flag to not let specific tracks scrobble... Of course you could manipulate the file's ID3 tags, eg to leave the "artist" tag blank so that Last.fm would reject the scrobble, but I don't know how practical that would be for your case.

Yep, I tried that some time ago and it didn't work then, and it still isn't working now. The track still ends up being scrobbled in the scrobbler, and it also shows up on my profile. Although, I've only excluded specific folders and not entire directories, I'm not sure if it only works for full directories?

I guess excluding the artist works fine for the most part though, thanks!
