I love how America are already involved in this. They always have to get involved, don't they? If Mr. Bush and his cabinet? party... whatever, spend half as much time looking after their own country as they do getting involved with other's issues then maybe their economy would be in a better state, the dollar would be stronger, and they'd generally be able to channel their resources more appropriately so as to be able to improve public services, roads and such within their own country.

Russia's as capitalist as we are, maybe more so. Europe on the whole is pretty damn socialist to be fair.

Russia is especially adept at using all the tools of capitalism against us better than we are able to manipulate them ourselves. Gotta give them respect for that, they really know how to beat us at our own game (cf BP being brought down in their Russian enterprises using among other things environmental regulations which weren't being particularly well-followed by BP and every other piece of Russian foreign policy in the last few years)

wow no-one's mentioned the Polish missile sheild which suddenly got rushed through a few days ago

"here Poland have these missiles to... protect you from Iran, courtesy George W. Don't worry about Russia saying they're gonna nuke you over it, it's just part of their recent military doctrine to pre-emptively take out nuclear threats. I don't think they really react aggressively to threats anymore. Worst comes to worst we can finally get WWIII out the way"

If USA wasn't there to police the world, I think we'd see warfare more brutal than in Iraq or Afghanistan, much more often.

Why do you think so? Do you think the same would happen if Russia stopped policing its neighbourhood?

Because USA is a type of deterrent. Smaller nations have to consider the chance that if they invade a country, USA might intervene. Of course they only seem to intervene when they have interests in that country, but it's still something. When they fight a war, they also don't seem to have genocide in their mind, even if the civilian casualties are quite high.

I do, but to a lesser extent. The Russian neighbourhood, aside for Georgia and Chechnya, is quite stable, I believe, and USA would still be there. But I could very well be wrong too. I don't know much about this subject.

That just might be (if by UNO you mean UN). But I don't think UN really has what it takes to intervene. Too much bureaucracy and disagreeing opinions - too much politics. But I don't really disagree with you about how things ought to be. It's just that they are not.

I think the United Staes should move the troops out of Iraq and Into Georgia! Lets see how bad the Russians really are! After all the weapons of mass destruction weren't in Iraq they are in Russia!!!!!!! I am a democrat ha ha ha ha ha Let the good times roll we are the new Roman Empire.

  • This really does have world war three potential. I'm rather scared. And why have Russia finally lost it and decided to do everything to piss off everyone else? Too much Vodka in their cereal?
