A lot the stuff I play doesn't even show up in the Now Playing list...
I'll get over it though. :P Players are only supposed to submit tracks which have ID3 tags and our at least 30 seconds long, so thats probably on purpose.

Hmm...all my mp3s are tagged, and most average 5 min or something. It's only been skipping songs every now and then lately though, so (again) it's not a big problem for me. :)

never ever had top lists?

hmm...my top lists have never ever been generated, n i've played about 1500 tracks already. i thought it was because alot of my non-english music didn't get posted correctly (korean tags turn up as ???) but since other people also have this problem i'm not so sure...

plus, seems like the new system which only generates updates when the profile is viewed seems to have missed me...

oh well, will continue to trawl forums for a solution...

btw, keep up the good work! AS is such a cool plugin! ^_^

The question marks are because of your player, windows media player is bad at that. If you're using windows 2000 or windows xp you may want to consider using foobar2000 instead as it supports other language characters better.

Another problem with the Top Artist list, there seem to show up some artist's twice in (my) list... And its not only my list.

Join True Listener, if you really listen to what you are playing.

Well, it's a bug, actually, and if it were to display this way, it should be 6-6-6-6-10-10-10-13-14-15 instead.

I really shouldnt whine since this is a free service, but really, what is the purpose of even having this site online untilt he bugs are fixed? We've all been having the same problem for upwards of 3 months, and nothing is getting fixed. the top songs/artists colums never update, so why is this service even online if it's not working? Take it offline until it's ready. I realize it must feel horrible getting mean/bad comments when I do realize you work very hard on this stuff, but the truth is it's not working at all and hasnt in a long long time. So why is it even online?

It is working. All your tracks should be hitting your profile. It's just not updating their display as often as it should.

There's a whole lot more to Audioscrobbler/Last.fm than just user profiles.

I think that's part of the problem. AS should be about user profiles first and foremost - everything else should be secondary. I think taking the site offline is a little drastic, and overall, the submission of tracks/updates etc. has improved since I joined. It just seems that when something is fixed, something else goes wrong. There is a forum for users who experience problems, however in most cases, the response is 'known issue'. (One of my Top 10 Artists has disappeared and I have no idea if or when it will ever come back). From what I read in the forums it seems a lot of work is being done to add features, (I'm even talking about things like Groups, Recommendations, avatars etc.), when the site's basic functionality isn't performing as it should - I'd rather not have any of those things and just have a profile that works. The other day I read in a forum somewhere about ideas to encourage more users to subscribe. The simple answer is to get the basic stuff working consistently. Having said that, this place is my saving grace while I'm at work, so I'll continue to put up with the problems.
