Ha ha ha, every time I see a little step to kick off unsigned artists from Last.FM I come here and see a couple of guy that are getting EXACTLY what's happening, and the others thinking that Last.FM is doin' some errors with interface, but INSISTING in complain they go back to the past.

It's more fun than the best comedy movie ever.

    WAKE UP, DUMBASSES!

YESTERDAY THEY TOOK OFF RECENT LISTENERS FROM ARTIST'S LISTENER PAGE.

    FOR THE MOST DUMB ASSES:

THEY DID IT SO YOU CAN'T CONTROL WHEN THEY STEAL YOU SCROBBLINGS, AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHO LISTENED TO WHAT SONG AND WHEN. YOU MUST RELY ON THEIR TOTALLY WRONG STATISTICS.

    GOT IT?

... PARDON, TOTALLY WRONG FOR UNSIGNED ARTISTS, ESPECIALLY THE ONES ASKING FOR ROYALTIES. BUT PERFECT FOR SIGNED ARTISTS, OR LAST.FM CLOSE IN 3 SECONDS.

Do you think you understand next step will be paying to put music here, or you need I paint you a picture?

CAN YOU PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO WAKE UP AND UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE CONVERTING LAST.FM IN A SHOP WINDOW FOR MAJORS, WHERE THEY SELL ONLY THEIR TALENTLESS OVERBLOATED MUSICIANS? (good artists don't need LAst.FM fraudto sell their shitty record by trying EVERY dirty trick to catch some idiot buying their shitty record).

Another thing: If you agree with this kind of economy, avoid to complain. If you vote for bush and then complain for bush-style pain in the ass you receive, you are an idiot.

This is what you ask for everyday of your life, being fooled by the very cool legalized criminals.
    Stay fooled and shut up.

    --------------

To the others, I mean to the people which don't vote for criminals then they are upset because is full of criminals (a true masterpiece of imbecility, like cutting your dick and saying the knife is coupable), we've got only to open a plenty of blogs talking about what these guys are doin'. Google must have 1000 links to people saying last.fm is a a FRAUD before first Last.FM link.

Hoxerijo, recent listeners are still there, they probably only went down yesterday becuase a lot of services went down due to a server meltdown...

Also if they wjere hatching a conspiracy against independents as you paranoidly claim then why for example did they reinstate the free downloads page a few months ago.

I think that somebody doesn't understand, or DON'T WANT to understand: let's go for idiot-proof:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    http://www.last.fm/music/Hox+Vox/+listeners

HERE you can see ONLY listeners. Can be people who listened this morning or last years. NO RECENT LISTENER, or "Listening now" (for people who need to explain exactly every single aspect or they don't get it).

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    http://www.last.fm/music/Frank+Zappa/+listeners

HERE there are the recent listeners AND top listeners.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And it's not because nobody is listening now, sometimes I've seen signed artist (not-very-much-scrobbled) with listeners which scrobbled one month before in "Recent Listeners". I'm sure I had scrobbling at least yesterday.

My knee is wondering if it's clear, can't spend the whole afternoon with staff multinicks.

you compare an artist who has less than 400 listeners to one that has nearly 400k and then expect the less famous artist to have listeners listening all the time?

    very very doubtful.

Recent listeners not showing on certain pages has been a problem for a while and I can find plenty of non major signed artists where it is working.

This page has been created based from one hobbiest video game track remix and yet even it has recent listeners.

    http://www.last.fm/music/bLiNd%2C+Fishy%2C+pixietricks%2C+Sixto+Sounds%2C+Steffan+Andrews%2C+Suzumebachi%2C+tefnek/+listeners

i can find more examples of this. Your seeing bugs as one big conspiracy.

We need to get groups like that and my personal favourite The Special Interest Tag Radio Collective going again, most of them seem to have gone into relative inactivity.

I attribute that not to lack of interest, but to the changes in the "recent stuff to read" parts of the site which have dampened some social aspects here (a topic for another thread sometime).

Well at least the rec reading is (semi)back, so hopefully that will help.

  • Hoxerijo, the conspirators seemed to have missed http://www.last.fm/music/TheTrees/+listeners from the exclusion. Someone seems to have let this small unsigned band have recent listeners.

When I said to my friends that Lehman was failing they told me I was a maniac of conspiracy as well.

People understand things only when thay are already happened. Meanwhile they don't believe. That's why these "managers" fuck people.

Getting one right doesn't make every other theory of yours right. You cant really know whether to trust a company or not you just have to trust your gut feeling.

In my mind even post CBS this place has enacted enough things that prove to me that they are not aiming for the major only world you claim they are.

Just wanna add to this. Was there anything else other the recommended reading in the past? I dont recall ever being attracted to a group because of that, In fact I don't recall how I found most groups bar randomly seeing them at the side on artist pages.

ahem. one of my pet peeves... ; )

In the past, when we went to the Groups page, (I can't remember what it said up top) first we saw a page half showing people listening now, and below that, the most recent journals. From there, we could go on to the Groups page. There, we could see sponsored groups and new groups (like now), but we also saw groups now active. That got me active in a lot of groups.

The absence of that feature has decimated groups, imo.

The other thing is the way groups are organised in our Profiles. We have fewer per page and there's no way to search. So groups are effectively out of bounds if you have more than a couple of pages' worth.

Of course, a bust reply tracker, that works when it feels like it, and even then misses threads, isn't helping.

  • I know I'm late, and I'm just chiming in now, but removing the track player from non-track pages is obnoxious and makes it harder to discover music.

I understand that last.fm is a business and does need to sell ad space and wants more individual page views. Since this change, however, I'm actually less likely to browse last.fm and search for new music to listen to.
Last.fm is now, for me, functionally just for radio and a central place to look up artists I've already been recommended to listen to from people I know personally.

  • hurraahh!

just noticed the album link in the radio player has returned!

    thankyou

now, how about, maybe, reinstating the album and artist players too!

    eager

    love alasdair

    xx

harder to find music - counter-intuitive!

i've now lost count of the number artists i have discovered purely through browsing last.fm.

i've spent £££s downloading tracks from 7digital, going to gigs and buying albums that i would otherwise never have known about.

how can i decide if i want to spend my money without listening to the artist first? i'm more likely to go elsewhere if it is inconvenient to play through an artist's albums. the limit on the number of times you could play a track was perfectly sensible. removing the thing that lets you easily listen to an artist's music is very stupid indeed.

  • Why are they deleting so many accounts, or "banning" the user, it seems childish to do such things. A lot of people I met here have suddenly disappeared and I cannot reestablish comms with them. Really, what's wrong with constructive criticism? It's only negative if you look at it wrong.

  • Oh, and don't ban me, it's all part of the experience... I mean where would American judges be if it wasn't for older men trolling underage women through social networking sites? ... UNEMPLOYED!... Anyway, I just don't think that bands, such as Late of the Pier, even though not a preferable artist in my opinion, would be on the radar if not for sites like this. Only an example. How am I supposed to get my sound into another persons ears when I finally decide to record.... beat.

LAst.FM are friend of nazists and fascists, and only fascists are friends of fascists (do the math, I've seen a moderator which is proudly a crypto-fascist, it's like putting as kindergaden guardian a pedophile).

So if you want a feedback by Last.FM don't raise the bar, speak simple. Speak BASIC. Or they don't understand.

Remember that Goebbels carried the hand at the gun whenever he heard the word "culture". If he had a social network, he'd ban the clever people, like here. And keep the no-brain nazists, good guys without that fucking working mind.

I continue to come here only to answer to private message, and because I'm still a subscriber so I want to use what they fraudly sold me, while I'm waiting for libre.fm go beta.

Crypto fascism is a movement highly opposed to fascism and basically has the purpose to destroy their influence on symbols (which they've mostly stolen from other cultures and mythologies, just remember the original meaning of a swastika).

No, it's a fake anti-fascist movement, full of fascists with a few morons believing to the fables.

It's like the fake independent movements in europe, which for real are groups of fascists organized to disguise their real aim.

Here is Borghezio, italian nazist member of Lega Nord (a whole neonazist movement disguised as "indipendency-from-italy movement") explaining how to disguise nazism in various ways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk8vpuajKGc

I've seen also another movie stealed by an infiltrate where he explain that left wings are particularly stupid, they childishly tend believe in people, so you can act as nazi and they don't get for a long time. Sad but true, ingenuity is perfectly clear even in this thread.

All european parties got wide documentation on it, but I understand that piss-in-the-pants youngsters don't know anything about it.

Go back to listen to music, it's more simple to manage than politics.
