    Don't Like It

Just got back from Iraq and gotta tell ya I don't like the new site. Under the old site I used to be able to query a track name and then see statistics on that particular track. Now when I try to do a track search, say for example, on an obscure piece of music called "Stairway To Heaven", it tells me "No such artist" even though I'm typing the phrase in the "Find Track: Track Name" field. The changes on your site smack of commercialism and if I can't get the same utility from your site that I did under the original audioscrobbler, I will be removing the plugin and lamenting the loss of the vision audioscrobbler stood for.

    Outta Here

Won't miss it. Your attitude and the reduced quality of service is indicative of something that has outlived it's usefulness. Audioscrobbler's success was dependant on users who recognized a valid need. Last.fm is a piece of shit and it is clear that whatever provided it's original need is now gone and will probably only be a matter of time before other's realize the same thing. It's a shame, but I won't miss any opportunity to express my disappointment at the death of audioscrobbler to those who are willing to listen.

Your whole criticism is based on the fact you can't do a single track search?

It says "Type in a band or artist you like" not a track, and you can't make up commands like "find track".

The 'find track' query only works if you put in the artist as well - there are several versions of that song, did you want Led Zeppelin's version or Rolf Harris?

  • Or choose from these others:
    Stairway To Heaven
    Stairway to Heaven
    Stairway To Heaven
and of course Stairway To Heaven
of around 50 artists who have recorded the song. So, in many cases a track search that did not require the artist would not be that useful due to the large number of results that would be returned.
