Is there anyway to send a notification to Google Talk from the last.fm client when a new track starts (so Google Talk shows what I am playing in my Last.fm client)? I know this function is built in for MSN and Skype.

I was wondering whether there was a 3rd party plug-in or anything.

  • I'm looking for the same.

  • Same here ...

Or vice-versa would be nice too.

I'm already using Google Talk to track my listening habits but ding-darn Google won't provide the same listening info as Last.fm.

So, the solution seems to use Google Talk to inform Last.fm of what I'm listening to.

Some tool or app will come around but it may take some time I suppose. If you know of a solution please reply!

    looking for this also...

  • Yes yes

My google talk current track status doesn't seem to update properly when the track changes in iTunes. So it would be great is LastFM did this.

  • I want this plugin :)

If you know, where I'll find lastfm-plugin to my Google Talk, please, write me: asocjacja@op.pl :)

Last.fm has various ways to display listening info at http://www.last.fm/feeds/

It would make more sense to me to contact the messenger site you use and ask them to integrate the data feeds (through a plugin) into their program.

It's a useless feature in the Last.fm client for obvious reasons.

A cool way to do this would be to create a plugin for pidgin ( http://pidgin.im ) . Pidgin supports google-talk and also setting and reading other people's moods. In combination with the last.fm client, it could work rather painlessly (and in a decentralized manner, so that last.fm servers don't have to spam google servers with mood updates).

if the feature hasnt been present for skype and msn i would agree that its responsibility of google to create the support, but with things as it is, it makes no sense to single out aim and gtalk etc. please add the support for gtalk
