Find events based on your taste / Facebook likes

Hey guys, I made this small proof-of-concept web app.

    http://gigseek.polso.info/

So basically, you can just input some artists you like in there, or get liked artists from Facebook, and then it will search gigs for you, sorted by distance.

Still REALLY early stage, but I would love to hear some feedback :)

    Features I have been planning:

    - Sort by date
    - Filter by date, distance
    - Speed optimization. It's really reliant on the Last.FM API, I want to improve the loading time.

    Oh yeah, and it uses:

    - Google Maps API for maps
    - Last.FM API for Similiar artists, Events
    - Facebook API for getting liked artists
    - Twitter Bootstrap for layout
    - CodeIgniter for backend

How do you find out the users geolocation?

I use Maxmind's GeoLite City. Not the most accurate, but it gets the job done. I wanna try using Geolocation in browsers, but it doesn't work that reliably yet.

surely if this is a facebook app their geolocation will be stored somewhere on their facebook profile data? i doubt you need to ask extra permission to access that since when they use the app they need to agree access to their personal data anyway
(i take it this would be a built in app for facebook, like that social reader and what not, and i'm not getting the wrong end of the virtual stick here)
