It's nice to see a well organised thread on the topic of wrongly assigned streams. I started a topic that got some notice by staff that lead to some incorrectly assigned streams being fixed, but not others. My list is given in this thread. I'll now apply the wrong track streaming tag to these tracks and also collect such cases in a journal entry for wider exposure, as you suggest in the Auto-Correct Correction Brigage group.

fmera - do think it would help to change the title of the thread to make its purpose more clear and hence gain better exposure with the staff, e.g. "Wrongly assigned streams"? Also a link in the first post to the Auto-Correct Correction Brigage group would help that group gain some exposure and hopefully send users with such requests in the right direction.

i've actually changed it once before (by adding the "reassigning" keyword to make it clearer. i guess once more wouldn't hurt... ;)

I have started a group to try and concentrate everything connected to streaming problems in one place: Boulevard of Broken Streams. The reporting is done using journal entries, so members can look after their own lists.

Phew. I have worked through everything in this thread and added anything I could verify to these two journals:

Tracks With Corrupt Streams
Tracks With Wrong Streams Attached

There are two compilations which are completely messed up that I have only started to look into (marked "to be continued ..."). If there is anything else missing, I either could not stream it (so it may have been fixed by elimination) or it streamed the right song. Maybe you want to check the journals for omissions.

It appears, that there is sometimes more than one stream attached to a track, so it will play the right stream only most of the time. This is something I cannot check. If you come across any more misplaced streams, just visit the Boulevard of Broken Streams (and consider joining of course :-).

T-Bone, T-Bone

I hope this is the right place for this..

I realised that last.fm only recognises T-Bone as some christian rapper, and lacks an artist of the same name, a thai ska band. I would appreciate if it could be added to the database.. even though it's the smallest thing in the world, I don't like my profile to show that I'm listening to music I'm not.

They Might Be Giants

Istambul (Not Constantinople) plays Ana Ng

Ana Ng plays Another First Kiss (which is incorrectly listed as First Kiss)

The comments on the They Might Be Giants page, and all of the track pages I've checked, mention problems with this sort of mix up. The page for Birdhouse in Your Soul actually mentions that the track was wrong, and then was changed... to yet another incorrect track.

Do we somehow not love TMBG? Do I need to start a riot up in here? (Just a little one? Please?)

Michael Jackson's Off the Wall is consistently streaming (on radio) a preview (i think, since it's too short to scrobble) of a pop song by some unknown (but familiar-sounding) female singer (she doesn't sound white). the bits of lyrics that i managed to scribble down go something like this:

think about the good times
think about the bad times
think about everything that we've been through...

think about your sorrow
think about tomorrow
think about all that we've been through...

take control of my open heart
...a brand new start

googling the lyrics drew a blank.

in case anyone can identify the track/lyrics, please pm me or leave a shout at the Boulevard of Broken Streams. thks.

and a fix to reinstate the correct track would be nice too.
