I'm not entirely sure about this one.

    http://www.last.fm/music/Rise+and+Fall/

I've never seen it spelled "and" anywhere else but here, but in theory it would be the correct spelling.

    http://www.riseandfall.org/

There's the official site that has "And", same goes for all of the info about the band on the Deathwish Inc. website.

and is more correct than And ... whatever the official site says

    ..in my opinion

    Two that annoy me:

http://www.last.fm/music/Blood+Red+Shoes/_/i+wish+i+was+someone+better should be "I Wish I Was Someone Better"

    and

    http://www.last.fm/music/Interpol/_/NARC should be "Narc"

eeeehhh i just noticed on my recent scorbbled tracks, that several songs of the tindersticks i'm playing have additional brackets in the title, that include the info they are bbc sessions and the date

well, there not. i'm listening to an album. it's tagged correctly via musicbrainz tagger. i found no such infos in the mp3 metas. why does last.fm change that automatically (wrong)?

i never want to say my best days are behind me

Maybe it was in the ID3v2 tag but you were looking at the ID3v1 tag?

What tracks in specific are allegedly doing this, and what media player are you using?

I mentioned this on the first page, about multiple artists on the Data page that has since been changed to DatA from the previous Data.

My personal preference would be for it to be DATA, but obviously we can't all get it our own way. Though I feel it should be a more neutral Data rather than giving one artist preference, especially considering DATA were around first.

    I hope this makes sense.

Please could you capitalize the "minutes" and "feat." in 4 Minutes (feat. Justin Timberlake)?

    http://www.last.fm/user/falkman/charts/?charttype=recenttracks

    tindersticks

these three songs: She's Gone, A Night In and El Diablo en El Ojo

i'm using the current winamp version, all songs are from the album 'Tindersticks [II]'
i was playing this songs before without this happening, strange, but at least the artist is correct

That would appear to be due to you having MBIDs in the MP3s, and it submitting the MBID and us building up your tags based on the MBID as opposed to the other ID3 tags.

  • I noticed a few Eluveitie tracks should be changed:

The Endless Knot to "The Endless Knot"

Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom to "Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom"

Calling The Rain to "Calling the Rain"

Gray Sublime Archon to "Gray Sublime Archon"

  • If You're Into It should be "If You're Into It"
    Thank you!

    so they're tagged wrong?

as i said, i tagged them with picard tagger (from musicbrainz) to his here album http://musicbrainz.org/release/5af9e21c-23b5-4618-aa31-404f17ae031f.html

i don't know where this additional infos could come from, but it's not really a problem. the song charts are of minor concern anyway

i'm just playing one of the songs, that were scrobbled so funny yesterday and when i open the last.fm plugin it's all correct, title, album etc.
on my page when 'now playing' it's also correct but now as the song is scrobbled it suddenly has these BBC Session blabla infos in it again. very strange.

I'm so glad this thread is up! This artist has always been wrong.

    http://www.last.fm/music/ToBY+LOVE/

His name is just Toby Love, its incorrectly tagged ToBY LOVE.

Also his number one song is tagged in all caps, can this be changed also?

    http://www.last.fm/music/ToBY+LOVE/_/TENGO+UN+AMOR
It should just be Tengo Un Amor, and thank you!

While looking at the charts, similar artists, groups, comments, pictures, events, etc... you can conclude that the french DatA is far more popular than the other DATA ... therefore it is logical to capitalize it this way...

    same goes for Sebastian

of course no offence to Data

  • Can someone please change Are You Okay, Kiddo? to "Are You Okay, Kiddo?", thanks!

  • Sorry for multiple posts, but it'd also be cool if I Should Tell You was changed to "I Should Tell You".

  • Just fixed the latest stuff here. But would someone mind telling me why all these japanese artist are so... obsessed with caps? Versalkåta.

Also, someone brought up having this as a sticky. I personally wouldn't mind it, but I'm not really the one who runs this place either. But with that we could also write up some general rules in the first post about what we can and can't change. Pros/cons, anyone?

The most pointless war in history needs to be stopped. So join and stuff.

Only some of them use ALL CAPS. ;-) Others may prefer lower case or sentence case too. It varies between each artist, of course.

That would be a great idea. I don’t see why not. To make things fairer for everyone, I think moderators shouldn’t be obligated to follow up on these unless there is solid proof the artist intentionally capitalizes names/titles like that, either through official websites or album scans.

And by the way, could day after tomorrow be changed (back) to day after tomorrow, please? Thanks so much!
