I'm saving my next big journal for my second Lastiversary, which is in a week or so, but I ran across three announcements on the same day that excited me. Jenny Lewis, Midlake, and Girl Talk are all in studio preparing new albums, hopefully with release dates by the end of the year. Combine this with the impending Old 97s record (May 13), a Ben Folds disc that will presumably drop sometime this year, and the other coming attractions I mentioned a few months ago, and we have an exciting 2008 ahead. I can only hope everything is up to scratch.
Oh yeah, and I'm not going to Bonnaroo this year--the lineup is crap--but with the money I'm saving I should make it to both the Beale Street Music Festival and Pitchfork. Not to mention, the lineup for Rites of Spring is much superior to last year's. YAY for festivals!
PLUS, did I mention my two biggest music crushes are coming to Nashville just to see me?
