Since being founded in 2006, The Great Escape has been firmly established internationally as the leading event for showcasing new music. Taking place in Brighton over 3 days in May, The Great Escape kicks starts the festival season, introducing 15,000 music lovers to the key artists and sounds of the year. With over 300 bands playing in 30 venues over 3 days, The Great Escape is the key date in the music calendar. In addition to pre-publicised performances, impromptu street gigs spring up all over town. The Alternative Escape, numerous club nights, label parties, industry showcases, unique collaborations and outdoor gigs all add to the festivities.

“Think of it as Glastonbury by the sea.” NME

“Unveiling the best music from across the globe, The Great Escape is essential for discovering the hottest new talent.” The Fly

“This three day music festival and industry conference is Britain’s answer to Texas’s SXSW.” TIME OUT

“TGE’s USP is new music, so for the real spirit of things, you are best off hunting the smaller venues.” XFM

The HUB

Launched in 2011 The Hub is based in the centre of Brighton at Jubilee Square and is the first TGE venue all 12,000 festival goers visit in order to collect their wristbands. From then on it becomes a great meeting place throughout the festival.
As well as the wristband exchange, we run a licensed bar at The Hub and an open air stage which is programmed with live music and DJs through out the day. We provide deck chairs for attendees to lounge on, while enjoying the shows and the atmosphere.

The Great Escape Convention

The Great Escape Convention takes place under one roof in The Brighton Dome. The programme runs daily between 10am and 5pm and consists of panels and debates for experienced music industry delegates, new music entrepreneur presentations, high end key note interviews, short Q&A sessions, case studies and educational workshops for new entrants to the industry. This runs alongside the festival and is attended by over 3000 delegates annually from across the globe.

Targeted networking sessions, parties and sponsored lunches are run every day giving delegates plenty of opportunities to form new business relationships and to catch up with established partners.

Full 3 day rundown here, don't expect stellar punctuation just my honest views spurting out of my awesome brain! http://pitchandkey.blogspot.co.uk/ Trippple Nipples were easily the best thing all weekend... I think I still have tomato in my hair from that gig & I almost destroyed a very expensive looking PA system.

Why are you going?!?!? If you want Rock music stay at Concorde 2 all day & see Cheveu.... also if you're actually going unless you've topped up your wrist band for the Maximo Park gig then you won't be going

not sure if you're serious or trolling? And I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "wussy" music? But if you can't find at least a few (new) bands you like the sound of out of a line up of over 300 you should probably just give this festival a miss. It probably isn't for you.

The line up is kinda wussy and lacks stamina (for my taste, anyway). Will probably see Maximo Park, though.

The moment someone plugs their band in 3rd person, often leads to people ignoring the band
